I think synthesis is what made me embrace IT. Nothing this bizarre could possibly be real.

I think that was their intent.  Leaves with printed circuitry on them?  I immediately thought it was their way of saying "You know this isn't real, right?  Look at this.  This is way too ****ing stupid to be real."

Let's not forget that BW have done a lot of stupid things, not all of them not real :D

Yes they have (I apologize if there is anybody here who loves the synthesis endings) but the way synthesis is portrayed in-game has got to be the worst thing I have ever seen in video gaming, why wouldn't the reapers just build the crucible themselves and just toss an organic into the beam. It just makes no sense! Plus it solves nothing!

And it still sucks.

The best is Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle. Rapid fire with great special effects.

Estebanus... Wow! That's amazing! And probably the most heartrending way to do it also... Perfect! Maybe also add a few pleas and accusations from Shepard's friends and LI, and Joker and Anderson should contribute some tear-jerkers too. You could get a few lines here and there from different people with tones of desperation, horror, and betrayal, until the shot with your LI, who would just say a one word, heart-rending plea: "Shepard..." The camera would slowly zoom in on Shepard's cold, emotionless face and a gunshot is heard, followed by the soft thump of a body hitting the floor. Shepard slowly realizes what he has done with dawning horror, and then he shoots himself. Critical Mission Failure.

Thanks! And good ideas!

You've reminded me of another thing I hate about the green techno pox. The implication that different cultures and peoples can never get along without something bordering on divine intervention.

Previously ME had been in the vein of optimistic Roddenberry-esque space opera, in which different cultures came together and found that they weren't so alien to each other after all. This was very movingly exemplified by reconciling the Geth and Quarians. Which Shepard accomplished just by getting them to talk to and trust each other, no space magic required.

But the ending throws that away. The outsiders (in this case synthetics) will always remain "other" and not to be trusted, unless the hero changes the universe in some unbelievable way. Hardly an uplifting message.

Exactly, the themes of the series (diversity) are just thrown in the garbage during the end. You just don't do that. It doesn't work and has people questioning the entire point of it all.

So what do you all think? Are they gonna milk us so we keep buying dlc to see the indoctrination theory be revealed and the last scene in the last mass effect 3 dlc will be the breath scene and then mass effect 4 or an expansion pack will be the real final battle??

http://www.ign.com/a...3#disqus_thread

I know Chris Priestly denied it, but I've still got my fingers crossed for a Project X expansion. The rumor was that it would be a very large file, so it may even make sense to be on a physical disc like the expansion packs of my distant, fondly remembered youth. And Chris only denied the specific claim that it was a DLC, arriving in March. So it could be a disc coming on another date maybe?

I'm probably just grasping at straws  though. :crying:

I doubt Chris Priestly knows much about what BioWare's inner circle is doing.

Hearing that he "used" me almost felt like being kicked in the ass. He was the only human male LI besides the slightly boring Kaidan. And I'm NOT gonna choose Garrus instead.

The moral of the story is: Never doubt the rage of a Shepard scorned? :P

High five; neither does mine. I think there was a dialogue option in ME1 where you could choose "non-alcoholic". Do you drink in real life?

Certainly not. I hate alcohol. It tastes disgusting. I only really got drunk once, and that was after I graduated from the officer's academy. Never again.

Officer's academy?

No, but the EC doesn't have a discreet level name for the purposes of that sequence (the end sequence doesn't have a discreet level name for that sequence at all).

Thus, DLC1=Leviathan, DLC2=Omega, DLC3=????? ("Project X"? We can only hope).

Ok, I'll try to explain.

Estebanus is still in university, ok? He has to write a crapload of stuff currently, so he doesn't have any time to be online here.
I was recently shot when I was stationed in Afghanistan, and as a result, I've been on temporary leave for the last few weeks and will be for the next 3 weeks.
Since I myself am a gamer, I thought that maybe I could spring in for my brother here while he's working. It's been a while since I heard anything about the IT. I last heard about it shortly after ME3's release, which was 3 weeks before I was getting stationed in Afghanistan.

So currently, I've been looking up what actually has been going on (read a lot of mindblowing stuff up until now) since March, and am trying to interact with the other people around here. So far, it has proven to be quite a nice experience:)

And yeah, if you message his account on origin, it'll be me who'll answer.

Exactly. Hopefully what Omega adds to the Catalyst's scene will be much more than in Leviathan.
