1. We do, because that's what was placed in the unused line in the Leviathan files. Here are the lines.
No, I'm talking about Sovereign's "supposed", "old tongue" name. I was asking if  it's explicitely stated that Nazara is his old name?
Who is OLD TONGUE NAME OF HARBINGER?
The first Reaper. In this cycle, amongst your kind, it is known as Harbinger.

Those lines aren't necessarily in order. I've seen that leaked dialogue list which appears to me to be one sided for the majority of the lines and a bit scattered.
3. Like I said, it's not so much the name, but that Shepard doesn't know the name belongs to Harbinger and specifically asks the Catalyst who that is only to be told it IS Harbinger. And if we go by the lines, Shepard doesn't even know that this old name is the first reaper, possibly unaware that it's even a reaper! That's a pretty big realization to come to at the end of the game when two of the choices you have ultimately side with the reapers. Not to mention anyone that's had to suffer through all of Harbinger's insults would immediately call bull on the Catalyst's "good intentions", which is, I'm assuming, why they may have left it out. ;)

Edit: I'm also extremely curious as to what Leviathan was initially supposed to say about the reapers and Harbinger. Especially without Shepard catching on that it's Harbinger the Leviathans are talking about.
I don't understand what you mean. I must be missing something here becase I don't see how connecting the two names together results in any kind of big realisation at the end or resulting in the misleading of which side harbinger is on.

Are you saying that the catalyst conversation was supposed to see the catalyst revealing his real name which turns out to be the same as Harbinger's or are you saying that Harby's old name is somebody that Shepard trusts? I don't get it.

What if Harbinger's old tongue name is Shepard? Would be epic.

Anyway, I was thinking, what if we had a recap post every 10 pages so if anyone wanted to know what was going on they could just refer to that?

Harbingers old tongue name is Harbinger.

If the old tongue name has the same meaning as the human word 'Harbinger', then yes, it would make sense. Otherwise I say to you.........hogwash. :P

It must be. Otherwise, leviathan would have told you its real name, wouldn't he?

Yep, and this is why I can't see what all the fuss is over the names.

Can you imagine a Liara/Aria confrontation if you cheated on Liara

I think what people are trying to get across is not that the name is important, but the fact that Shepard asked "Who is *insert name*" Leviathan would have had to of said something important about *insert name* for Shepard to ask. This begs the question of what was the importance, why didn't Leviathan just say it was Harbinger, and of course how does it affect Harbinger's role in the story, as at some point he will without a doubt become more involved.

Any chance of a link to the cut combat dialogue?

Here you go:
Legion Prime combat dialogue:

No real video, but hints that there are dialogues of Jack/Zaeed/Grunt embedded in the files:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/13414717/940#14162346
You're welcome.

Maybe I'm a bit slow, but where is the Prime unit in game? I've searched all throughout the Normandy prior to the Cerberus mission, and searched London fairly well, but not found it/him. Obviously, it was a "truce" on Rannoch, but where is this conversation?

Thanks

You have to save the Geth but not the quarians. If you make peace then he's not there. I always thought this was just stupid on Bioware's part but maybe it's a clue to something.

If Harby's name is the same as the Catalyst, or Leviathan, then yes the name is important. If not, then it's like saying:

Shepard: "Tell me the name of William the Conqueror in the Fortran language."

Catalyst: "William the Conqueror, in the Fortran language."

A skunk, by any other name, would smell as bad.

Does this mean we have to replay Leviathan upon the download of a future DLC just to hear this line?

Well we have to play through at least the cerberus base and london to hear the catalyst's lines so I don't see why not. I'd much rather play through Leviathan than the Cerberus base or London.

You mean like they're going to crank out thousands over thousands of "Games from the creators of Mass Effect" from now on?

Not exactly. The announcements of company heads leaving would typically worry investors if just given on its own. Announcing new projects helps assuage those worries by letting them know that BioWare has not suddenly become defunct after losing the doctors.

It would be interesting to learn the implication of these two guys regarding content. Casey Hudson has been pretty quiet all through the "ranting saga", and I'm wondering now at what's coming next. I believe most players unsettled by the endings were in the "younger" category while those who didn't take it as hard were in the "older" category. I'm only speculating here, of course, but I know that life changes our view on many things with time passing, and what older audience might find interesting or amusing can often be viewed as boring or shocking by younger audience. The inverse can also be true. The point is that maybe since decisions taken that did not reflect the "general desires" of the audience surely contributed to hurt EA's and Bioware's image, thus endangering the profitability of future content from this very popular and loved franchise, this points towards a tendancy to "overrule the consensus", which is rarely the approach taken in "team work". Without going any further down that way, I only want to point out that the fact they announced another "Mass Effect" game (+DLC) and tied this with the "retirement" of two execs, even asking for "suggestions" regarding next ME game, sounds very promising. We can take for granted they have learned from their "mistakes", as any decent business would do, and I hope this contributes to gain back their customer's confidence.

This being said, I wonder if the "Dark Energy" plotline could possibly be reintegrated in the Mass Effect universe, in some future that would show the state of the galaxy after the "Shepard / Crucible" events (or refuse / later Crucible ones). Did this hastily rigged device work as well as it was supposed to? Did Shepard effectively "control" the "consensus" he was merged into? Did "synthesis" really went without any hiccups through a few generations? It would be fun to see that "integrated" as data to start the new game, just like we could import our Shepard to Start ME2 and ME3 : onse simple question (what was chosen in your universe?), then the story reveals what has really become, and what is the "new state of things"...

On a side note, if they really decided to simply fix those endings to something less divergent it would be easier to either build a story in the future or even in parallel stories (Geth vs Quarians, prequels, etc).

What if the Crucible is a device of Reaper origin that is meant to fix the dark energy problem but for some reason that has yet to be revealed they can't build it. So they reap civilizations and leave the crucible blueprints behind with the implication that it could destroy them. The galaxy works to build it with the hopes to destroy the Reapers when really all it does is fix the dark energy problem. So it's a trap but for a good cause. Every civilization has failed to build it so the Reapers harvested them to give a new organic civilization the opportunity. The catalyst, what it does, and what it is will be revealed as the reason the Reapers couldn't finish the crucible themselves. This dlc will cost $20 come with several new weapons and a new hub world. Your welcome.

On a side note, again, I was thinking that since the Leviathan (and also the Reapers) didn't even have fingers or anything alike to execute precise work, just like whales (they're intelligent but lack means...), the only way for them to survive through time and compete with "fingered species" would be... to have "employees", and a security task force to keep them working.
