What if the Crucible is a device of Reaper origin that is meant to fix the dark energy problem but for some reason that has yet to be revealed they can't build it. So they reap civilizations and leave the crucible blueprints behind with the implication that it could destroy them. The galaxy works to build it with the hopes to destroy the Reapers when really all it does is fix the dark energy problem. So it's a trap but for a good cause. Every civilization has failed to build it so the Reapers harvested them to give a new organic civilization the opportunity. The catalyst, what it does, and what it is will be revealed as the reason the Reapers couldn't finish the crucible themselves. This dlc will cost $20 come with several new weapons and a new hub world. Your welcome.

Could these benovelent reapers not just poletily ask the civilizations to build that device? Furthermore by harvesting the high tech races the chances for them to solve that problem by building the Crucible diminishes.

Edit: TOP!

If they naturally evolved their mental powers it'd be a safe guess that they would use thralls for everything.

Bad Idea, Bad Execution, Bad Response, Bad Fix, Just Bad

The writing was terrible, no matter the age group.
Plot holes have nothing to do with age.
Thematic inconsistency has nothing to do with age
Horrible PR response has nothing to do with age

The endings at face value are garbage as has been explained ad nauseum

I think he'd be better off asserting that ahe plays a part in the lvel of emotional response, not the enjoyment of the ending

I did not relate "age" with "enjoyment of ending", but it just took you two posts to get the point. Not a lot of players like their avatar getting killed to end a game, young or old. But the reaction will not be the same, in general. You can always point to particulars, I won't argue there.

Is that all you got from my post? What about the rest?

The rest was on point

And your "interesting or amusing" vs "shocking or boring" comment was based on age.

I might be grasping at straws but I can see some resemblance. Anyway to get a closer look at the face in the second picture?

Then if you merge the "Dark energy" with the "Leviathan / Reapers indoc powers" you can imagine that the Crucible was a device to "control Dark matter / energy" because the Leviathans needed it as some "fuel" for mental powers like indoc, but at the same time a danger to the material balance of the universe. Since its nature would probably frighten the other species by having them investigating the Dark Energy issue, they could not reveal it, so resorted instead to deception. Speculation just to speculate, speculatively speaking.

And I was fine with Shepard dying as long as it made some actual sense.

I would have been fine with a nihilistic ending as long as it made some actual sense

"And the inverse is also true", which takes the issue to general grounds, not "enjoying the bad ending". Do you really think I'm dumb to the point of suggesting that older players enjoy bad writing and execution?

That's funny, because I had the feeling that he didn't really "die" in most choices, except Destroy with low EMS. He didn't even "die" at the beginning of ME2, although he was just a pile of bones, while in ME3 he can speak (Control), "live as DNA into everyone" (synth) or even "breathe"...

If they'd changed the character model in the final shepard shuffle when Leviathan was added, then it'd have some weight.
Otherwise, no

Was the guy from Leviathan? If so then you'd have to check if the soldier changed with the DLC.

EDIT: Ninja cats.

Did you notice, in Mass Effect 2, that councilor Udina (with minor changes) is the same character as the man with his lady locked in their apartment on Omega, during the Mordin's recruitment mission?

Being considered alive in synthesis is similar to a cannibals victim being considered alive.

Whether the entity in control is Shep or an AI based on them is up in the air so that may not be living either.

You start this again?

The Reapers keep "advanced civilizations alive", yet Shepard doesn't approve this. But who has the real knowledge?

And why do you compare "DNA merging" with "food processing"? Did you turn veggie while eating peas?

Shepard is fighting for the right to self determination for all sentient life.
