Wow, pretty deep stuff right now. You know, ME really isn't THAT original. Have any of you seen the trope pages for ANY of the ME games? It's power is in its execution of all these elements.

I'm really sorry for asking this, but what are "the trope pages" for the ME games?

Now that a new Mass Effect game has been confirmed, and many are implying it should be a sequel, there are a lot of threads that question, if it is possible to do a sequel.
I hear on a regular basis that:
a) Destroy should be canonical
B) Leviathans are the new threat
c) It is not possible to do a sequel
d) Elephant Theory should be used
e) Lunatic propositions in general (pun intended or not)
I do not see anyone suggesting IT, though I suppose it was quite popular after the original endings and previous to EC and has become something like common knowledge?
I cannot understand why such an elegant way to extend the series with Shepard is ignored by the vast majority, especially since you do not really have to alter that much, everything is right in the game/codex/books/comics?!

Of course, you thinking IT is "elegant" is subjective. The fact is that most people, as I thought, only thought IT was a good idea because it promised some form of alternative or extended ending. When the EC was announced, the hype machine went into overdrive. When it soon dawned on those people that the EC didn't change the endings and there was no chance of there being a final "reveal DLC", they abandoned it.

Equally, one could say that the bad writing has been there all the way through the games, books etc.

No words. Just sheer amazement. A simple change in shape gives x-fold reduction in energy requirement. And that in only 18 years!

Imagine this! If this experiment delivers and they'll build a working warp drive, we could all go to Mars in a couple of seconds. Or visit the Milky Way in an hour.

Word of warning to 401 Kill, don't go to tvtropes.org unless you have at least a couple of hours to waste.

Shepard should have linked the Reapers to TV Tropes...
Not only would they gain full understanding of organics, but they would be stuck there indefinitely...

I don't know about "most people" but I personally had no problem with the ending except a few loose ends that the extended cut patched up. In my first playthrough, before all the hubub, I was sitting there trying to decide wether I should pick control or destroy... blue is paragon, red is renegade, the child said destroy would kill not just the reapers and said control was good,etc.. All these thoughts were floating through my head and I suddenly woke up, thinking "wait a minute...TIM showing paragon? Anderson as renegade? This catalyst AI is the boy from the beginning and the dreams, he's lying! Screw you reapers!" And I went toward destroy and shot that thing with conviction.

I formed the Indoctorination conclusion on my own and not because I wanted to have a new ending but because I interpreted the clues and had a revelation that this was the reapers last attempt to stop shepard, their last ditch effort to Indoctorinate not just Shepard, but also me. I personally don't understand all the distain for the endings.

I'm still convinced that most of the people that picked control or synthesis as their initial choice react worse to the endings than the people that picked to destroy, just an observation. There are exceptions, but for the most part I think this is true lol.

I found that all my friends who picked synthesis as their first pick (me included) did so at 1-3am in the morning after playing the game for an extended period of time, exhausted and tired... Kind of like how Shep is at the end... The ones that picked destroy did so in a right mind and not sleep deprived. Funny, huh?

Sounds like what happened to me haha.

I tried to convince myself of the decision when I woke up again but, as the days went by, I was forced to admit that my sleep deprived self might have fallen for Reaper deception and doomed the galaxy

I thought the endings were alright. Didn't really think much about it until my friend showed me IT. Only then did I see the horrible murder of the series' themes. Guess I'm doomed to be indoctrinated...

Kinda an off topic question, but can someone tell me where the Geth Prime is located on the Earth mission? I found a youtube video talking about how Legion did the voice for the Prime, but I have never been able to find the location of said Prime.

If Legion is actually the voice, then the IT might be more valid, changing voices so Shep doesn't recognize them?

In the lead up to the end in the command center when you say your goodbyes before the final push, in the same room with Anderson I believe.
