I had an idea that if they implement IT it would only change destroy. You could have your pretty control and synthesis endings if you want, but this would have you wake up. This would also allow both the literal and IT interpretations to exist at the same time! The only downside is if you like destroy but not IT, which would be odd. Virtually the same thing would happen, just after another epic fight. You could even reuse the EC destroy monologue!!! Finally a good reason for it not to include Shepard!starlitegirlx wrote...
IT is such a mind screw that I find it hard not to love. The only downside is that it leaves the destroy ending as the only one and we aren't sure when it became some kind of attempt at indoctrination.

My brother claims that the IT isn't correct, his main argument: Shepard is dead and the breath scene is fake. Ugh.TJBartlemus wrote...

The existence of Firebase Rio: I'll start here by explaining why I think the map's existence is important. All of the MP maps are based off sections of the SP we've played on with the apparent exception of 2: Firebase Hydra and, now, Firebase Rio. But I don't think Hydra is somewhere we didn't go. Let me explain. As far as we can tell, (credit to BleedingUranium here) Firebase Hydra is most likely the cut beginning of the Geth consensus mission. I'll list the evidence I can think of off the top of my head for this
You're in Vancouver in the game.starlitegirlx wrote...

Where is vancouver in the game. I don't remember anything like vancouver. These could just be maps they made for the MP or even for elements they didn't use in the game but had plans to use.
Vancouver is where you are when the reapers attack in sp (the first mission).starlitegirlx wrote...

Exactly, we once spent two hours straight discussing the ending, I was for the IT and he was for "bad writing", it's disappointing, seeing as the only reason I've been playing Mass Effect games is because he played 1&2, and convinced me to try out ME2 first. It took me a year to complete it.BansheeOwnage wrote...

Fake? If that's "fake" then what's stopping any other part of the end or entire game to be "fake"?

I really do not like the idea of a mass effect 4 (this is just my opinion). ME was supposed to be a trilogy, and they could still wrap this up with a DLC/expansion. I would favor something along the lines of "Mass Effect 3 Part 2".Dendio1 wrote...

I agree. From what I've heard Dragon Age had an expansion called "Awakening" that was like that. I've never played them, so just heard about it in this thread, but even just by name, it sounds similar401 Kill wrote...

I agree on the last part. Maybe after we beat or lose the challenge? They'll probably try to release Omega before Halo 4.TSA_383 wrote...
So, origin just decided that I should be doing something else mid-game.
What do you guys see as the most likely time for omega to be announced/released?
I figure we should be looking for an announcement at least for the MP DLC this next week.

If the teaser pic ---> actual launch follows roughly the same timeframe as Leviathan did, October 30th/November 6th seems most likely. Anxious for more MP DLC in the meantime.TSA_383 wrote...

Has there even been a MP leak yet? Or did they finally figure out who was leaking and put a stop to it?

I would merrily repurchase the game and the DLC parts if I ever found out that it it led to something major like a really great IT ending. But I think they really don't want to go that way because it's too savvy for most players. The idea that you just fell into a mind trap would ****** off some people. Egos and all that. They would be angry even though it's such a mindbending twist it would make them think. Not much out there these days that makes people think or delve deeper into stuff. Part of the reason I love IT is because it really does make you think.... like starbrat - he's the image of airplane toy kid, vent kid and dream kid as well as kid on shuttle that goes boom! Attempts at indoctrination after leaving shepard in the room unconscious with reaper tech for two days during arrival. Opens the door to it, but doesn't let it in completely.
Would be nice if they left a lot of other little hints. I think there's one with vega talking about a hum somewhere in the cargo or something. Could also explain the nightmares (which are the worst gameplay ever).
I pray they come out with something that makes IT more than a theory. Especially after leviathan and its abilities. Suddenly we are very much back with indoctrination when it was only fluffed over in ME3 in a few places until the ending, but you would also have to had played ME1 to really undestand it and I suspect a lot of people that love, love, love ME3 didn't play ME1 or at least get into it as someone like we did. Newcomers found ME1 too repetitive. I remember reading that in a lot of posts. They hated it. But all the repetitive stuff is IT. Like they are drilling it into your brain with a plan for it. So it's repetitive to those who just play to play. But for those that really get into the story part, we pay attention and figure this HAS to be important. Also, play ME1 enough times and IT is hard to not see in the ME3 ending. Three choices appear out of the clear blue and two of them are all pie in the sky perfect and just happen to work perfectly for reapers in that you don't destroy them and you die - you, who have been the biggest thorn in their side that they sent the collectors to kill you and then harbinger goes after you all through ME2 whenever you are in collector territory.
Just my 2 cents anyway. God I feel at home in this thread. Though I don't think the crucible was a trick of the reapers. I think it was truly a weapon and the catalyst was meant to be a person or people who made it into the citadel to stop the reapers.
