I have not logged onto Origin in a long while (couple months), so i logged on today to play and found out that my singleplayer saved games and even my achievements are gone. I looked under my documents save folder location and all my saved files are not there. I did have an Origin update btw.

I did not delete any save files, I've never had cloud storage enabled, what gives?

I just did the same thing... all my saves are gone. What the heck did you do Bioware? Now you just killed all my desire to ever play this game again.

The new Origin has Cloud saves on by default. This automatically transfers your saved games to the Cloud then deletes your local copies.

I figured it out. Its definitely Origin causing the problem. The "cloud" sync from Origin pops up saying it has "newer" data than whats on the client. So if you select to load the cloud data, you lose everything.

I was lucky that I had a backup from 07/02 prior to these changes. If I restore these files, Origin thinks tha the files are out of sync with the cloud... "Update: yes or no?" NO!!! If you do, you lose everything. Play a bit, play some Multiplayer, shutdown the game, restart it. It will sync and replace the crap data on Origin's Cloud.

Developers supporting this game, who ever came up with this cloud sync needs to seriously disciplined with screwing with customer data. YOU DO NOT SCREW WITH CUSTOMER DATA AND YOU NEVER DELETE FILES WITHOUT CUSTOMER CONSENT!

Just uncheck "Enable cloud storage for all games," and it won't prompt you to sync your saves anymore. So long as EA doesn't force it on us again. (Personally, I've never liked the idea of having to trust EA with my saved games.)

There was a recent update to the origin app, and if not careful, this will erase all your saves. That cloud save feature, if it thinks they are not in sync local-to-cloud, has two options: erase local, go by cloud; or upload local to cloud. The default is to erase your local saves. Not a great default is it? My guess is that the files disappeared when getting through the origin update...you have to watch it closely.

Kinda sad this happened to so many people, its not hard to sit down at a dev meeting and say "How could this break things our customers have?"
