- Characters felt stiff with there dialogue almost script reading at moments
- combat at times was a chore
ME2- 90 game was fun solid ending for saying choice matter or at lease it felt like it did.
-Characters were was made felt more alive this time around
-plot was confusing now that ME3 is out.
ME3 75
- auto dialogue was annoying
- Combat was really improved but that felt like it
- the ending have the feeling like i can recon it out and the story seems to flow better
Story over all 85 to me at least.

Mass Effect 2: 60 - The story is garbage the cast ranges from annoying to shallow, the game has no focus and no point. Cerberus is a stupid plot twist and Shepard's death is totally wasted as a blatant reset mechanism. Characters from the previous game are pointlessly sidetracked for no good reason other than to focus on the new ones who aren't developed properly in their own game. That being said it had a better combat system some cool environments, Renegade in particular was much more Han Solo than violent petty murderer. Still it all started to go wrong here, this was where BioWare stopped caring.
Mass Effect 3: 65 - This game is clearly rushed out the door less than 75% finished and the endings, the less said about that garbage the better. The characters are very well done, though the demands of the design is on showcase like never before with clumsy and awkward conversations the really serve a mechanical purpose than any sort of logical or role playing reason. The conversation was gutted for no real reason and has both less options and shows up less as the game prefers to talk at you rather than ask the player for input. That being said it does have a clear focus and goal until the end where basically all logic and the entire universe is sundered and the franchise is destroyed.
The Mass Effect Trilogy: 35 - Every game is basically it's own thing having little or nothing linking it to the other games other than a somewhat consistent cast and protagonist. The middle part is a complete waste, it has too many characters that it does nothing with and the storyline is insultingly horrible. What started off so good will only be remembered for one thing, a horrible conclusion.

Mass Effect 2: 83 - The story if it actually existed bored me to hell and back. The story is just not interesting at all and with killing of Shepard the first thing they do just put the entire game in a negative light for me. BUT the game had some of the more exciting and awesome squaddies i've seen. Miranda, Jack, Thane, Grunt, Samara.. the list goes on. All of them made a significant impact on me and i'll miss them. The DLC was very good here, Overlord, LotSB and Arrival all add something to the game that i really like. The Hammerhead however is just.. blergh, hate it so bad. The game got too much stripped down for me. It's a good game but not in my taste.
Mass Effect 3: 66 - Oh boy.. Auto-dialogue, the endings, fetch quests and the awful journal. Add no exploration and all that together and it become one huge mess. It didn't help that the ME2 romances really got treated like crap! This game pretty much killed my love for Mass Effect. I can't remember the last time a game made me so disappointed and annoyed. The war story did sound exciting from when we learned about it and it was exciting in the game. ME3 got Tuchanka and curing the genophage, it got Rannoch and Mars. So many awesome areas in the game and with improved gameplay and somewhat renewed RPG features the game did look so promising! Then.. the catalyst and the RGB endings came.. That the Crucible was in the game was no suprise, i knew Bioware needed something like it but the Catalyst and the god-awful endings was a suprise i never wanted. That disappointment will never go away and the auto-dialogue madness just make it all worse.

Plot was solid, best out of the three, but BioWare pushed themselves into a corner and couldn't write out of it. Characters were lacking though and gameplay was rubbish... but fun.
ME2 = 90
Weakest as a narrative that is coherent to its prequel, but strongest as a narrative of it's own...of sorts. The thing that really makes this game stands out is the amount of content and dialogue there is. The characters are great and the writing shines out.
ME3 = 70
Amazing until the last mission. The climax was anti-climactic and the ending was just terrible. The EC patched it up nicley, but there are still plot holes and war assets still count for nothing. If the EC would have added war asset scenes I feel that ME3 would have gone up to 85.
Overall the series can be summed up with this analogy: solid blocks of pure gold tied and held together by corroded iron links.
There are always parts of just pure gold, but the overall narrative isn't held together as well as it should. At face value, it's amazing. In deeper analysis, the trilogy lacks coherence.

ME2 - 85 Greatly improved shooter game play. Interesting characters. Mineral exploration tedious. Collectors were a bit too simplified. The recruitment missions were much more interesting. End boss was underwhelming but acceptable. Another good game end.
ME3 - 70 Great shooter game play. Characters very interesting and felt genuine sadness at the loss of many. Great missions like Tuchanka and Rannoch. Cerberus was made to be a little "too evil" IMO. Game end (even with EC) took what should've gone down as the most epic game trilogy of all time to a simple... meh. EC did help (though destroy end is still incomplete with the Shepard alive aspect) but the game will forever be tainted by the circular logic and last minute curve ball a couple writers went in the last 10 minutes.

I find it funny that people are rating ME3 so low and ME2 so high given how **** both of them were.
Edit: It's almost like people can't differentiate between good and terrible story telling.

"That's just your opinion, man" isn't a valid argument. It's fine for people to enjoy wahtever they want, but that doesn't mean ME2 or ME3 are well told stories because they're god awful.
