ME1: 90
While exploration was at times tedious (I am a completionist all the way) and the gameplay was underwhelming, ME1 delivered where it mattered most: Story, characters, and pacing. Every world had a certain atmosphere, and I felt I could truly role-play my many Shepards. I recently watched the entire credits of ME1 just to try reliving the incredible feeling of completing the game.
ME2: 96
ME2 had even more amazingly written characters, and the gameplay was far more solid. The central story did not add very much to the Reaper arc, but felt epic nonetheless. The suicide mission mechanic was brilliant, and I felt personally connected with every one of my squad. I must have replayed that game literally dozens of times, just to explore all the endless dialogue and discover as many variables as possible. ME2 is undoubtably my favorite video game of all time.
ME3: 72
As for ME3, the magic was gone. Sure, gameplay is near-perfect, and the multiplayer is a nifty diversion. Squad interaction was improved, as was mission banter. But the core plot was weak and rife with plotholes, not to mention the revolting ending. Dialogue, one of the best feature of the series, was drastically reduced, and the squad was significantly reduced, while numerous love interests and former squadmates were delagated to cameos. I'm currently puting my Canon Shepard to rest, and it isn't fun. So much squandered potential.
