And if not can someone tell me exactly why you did not like Jacob???? I don't see any fan threads about him
Would you guys like Jacob if Bioware brought him back as a squadmate but with the same armor and powers as the Cerberus Defector in mulitplayer?

Well Jacob is a rather dull character who cheats on you if romanced. Not Really a shock.

If that was the case, I'd:
-Recruit him
-Get his bonus powers
-Equip them
-Never use him again

I just always found him boring, and kind of a useless squadmate. They're were so many more useful characters in ME2.
And I wasn't a big fan of how they treated jacobmancers in ME3. That sucks. If Ash had cheated on my shep...

Jacob was....Meh to me in ME2. He was just...There. He paled next to the Cerberus Operative, the Master Thief, The Justicar, and ete. He really didn't have much Character Development in my opinion. Zaeed falls into a similar boat with me but Zaeed at least has awesome things to say and the Paragon outcome to his Loyalty Quest is Character Development.
I can't even look at him in ME3. I may not even play a Fem!Shep but....wow. There is no excuse for such Character Derailment.

My femshep always acted really weird and out of character around him in ME2 which I found annoying. I don't hate him, but I don't much like him either. He mostly just sat around on the Normandy, promising drinks that never happened, in my game.
As for him being a squadmate? No, he'd just sit even more in the Normandy.
I can't help it, I just don't much care for that poor guy. D:

Wait a minute... Cerberus defector armor....same abililties...
Why not Randall Ezno? His story still needs resolution, and he's just about as interesting as Jacob.

You forget that, in ME3, Bioware forgot that Jacob is a biotic.
I don't think he's powerful enough a biotic for those powers, imo. He's a minor biotic.
EDIT: If Jack could be brought back as a squadmate, some of the multiplayer N7 classes' powers really, really fit her.

I wish the squadmte AI was better. Jack with anihilation field would be great (that thing and shockwave would be epic win).

If any ex-Cerberus character deserves to be given a fully fleshed out role in a possible dlc it's Miranda period, Jacob is a bleh character, there are far more deserving ME2 characters who need additional dlc content.

No. Bring Grunt, Miranda, or Jack back.

I have thought this through, and I have thought of one way I could truly like Jacob:
If Jacob were to discover time travel, and go back to virmire and take Kaidan's place, that way I could actually have his character in one of my playthroughs.
Jacob's sacrifice would endear him to me.

No, I'd only like him if he was brought back with Grunt's armour, Grunt's looks, Grunt's personality and Grunt's memories

I wanted to like Jacob and then he started insulting Thane (in ME2) for being an assassin as my Infiltrator Assassin Shepard stood there helpless.

I don't think he was that bad in ME2, personality-wise at least. Sure, in constrast to the wildly outrageous personalities of the other characters he was perhaps a bit too normal, but I liked that about him. And his loyalty quest was a big surprise in terms of crazyness.
What I did not like about him were his powers and weapon proficiencies. Shotgun and Heavy Pistols? Pull, Incendiary Ammo and Barrier? You have got to be kidding me. I don't know what powers a Cerberus Defector has, but I'm damn sure they would make Jacob a better squad member than he is now.
As for his personality in ME3, well, I am inclined to believe that Cerberus killed him when he was chillin' on the beach and the Jacob you talk to on Gellix is actually an AI there to keep tabs on all those wayward scientists.

I don't hate him, nor do I particulary like him either. He's just a good guy and a loyal soldier to me.
Giving him better powers wouldn't change that.

A good theory. Me, I'm inclined to believe the long lost twin brother one, though. Still, I won't throw out the possesed-by-a-desire-demon one for romanced playthroughs. It might explain why he ends up with FemHawke, afteralll.
