You either:

Focus on Huntermode and ignore Overload - focus on weapon damage.

Focus on Overload and ignore Huntermode - focus on healing and overload spam.

or use a harrier and use both overload and hunter mode and skip the turret.

this is my curret engineer and will always be.

Kinda a waste of the only character that can heal others, but If it works....I guess.

i use when fighting geth, dont need turret when overload pretty much staggers everything except pyros and primes (can stagger pyros if their shields are down, is what ive noticed)
add disruptor ammo on the harrier and now you can tech burst quite efficiently.

#1 question when determining a Geth Engineer build is "What weapon do I want to use?" - Because this determines your choices in Hunter Mode (rate of fire and accuracy bonuses only really affect certain weapons), and heavier weapons might require some investment of the racial weight passives.

Here is several different Geth Engi builds

6/6/6/4/4 - this allows for rank 4 weight reductions allowing for more frequent chain overload spam.

6/6/6/3/5 - Easily the most "durable" setup, but the weakest in terms of weight bonuses, so you need ~150% power recharge speed with whatever weapons you take assuming you want to spam overload. This build works well when you've got maxed rares and decent ultra-rares because weight isnt as much of an issue.

6/6/6/5/3 - Power spam+Weapon build, a bit more frail because of only 3 ranks in Fitness, but you can take a heavier weapon and still spam overload frequently and rely more on your turret for constant shield regen.

6/3/6/6/5 - Heavy weapon setup, or weapons that dont benefit much from Hunter Mode RoF/Acc bonuses. 3 ranks in Hunter Mode still give you the "wall hack" vision and a small damage boost, while still offering all the other benefits of a traditional Geth Engineer setup. Hunter Mode is somewhat overrated on the Geth Engineer because of the Geth Infiltrator which NEEDS every bit of damage boost possible, unlike the Geth Engi which serves an entirely different purpose.

I personally use a 6/6/6/3/5 build using Hurricane 4(ULM)+Talon 5(ULM) with Hunter Mode specced for RoF+Acc. - Hurricane is my "anti armor/boss killer" and the Talon scoped allows me to snipe infantry at long range and use it as a shotgun at close range (hip fire). I think my recharge time is somewhere near 200% so I can spam Overload nonstop and use my Turret for self/team healing+enemy distraction.

I personally think its "sacrilege" to skip out on the Turret,Overload(2x chain minimum), or Hunter Mode (rank 3 minimum) because there are other classes that can do the same thing otherwise... which is why every build I've suggested still makes fair use of the Geths primary abilities.

The biggest weakness of the Geth Engineer is Armor... make sure you bring a weapon that can effectively deal with armored enemies... or at the very least you have teammates who are high DPS anti-armor "boss killers" because its easily the biggest weakness of the Geth Engineer. (particularly weak against Reapers)

As to your question about the Geth Infiltrator being "better" I'd say most would agree that in terms of "pure DPS" the Geth Infiltrator is one of the best in the game (if not the best), and because of that he will be more effective on Gold/Platinum where boss enemies are more frequent. This doesnt mean the Geth Engineer cant be played effectively however, it just means that the Infiltrator variant is better overall (and might be the best class overall).

If you have some more specifics on what weapons you'd like to use, I could certainly get into more detail about what specific builds I think you should use.

What weapons would you like to use? A lot of what I'd "tailor" a build for would be based on what weapons you want to use. Its best if you take weapons you're comfortable with and enjoy using.

Just from glancing over your manifest, my particular choices for weapons would be Hurricane+Carnifex/Phalanx or the Piranha (Smart Choke+Shredder Mod). I really like the Hurricane on the Geth Engi and Geth Infiltrator, specced for Accuracy+RoF its one of the highest DPS weapons in the game, and rips stuff up at short-medium range... the recoil is a bit tricky at first but once you've used it A LOT you'll master the recoil and it'll never be an issue. The Carnifex makes a great long range weapon, but you'll probably want to get it leveled up a bit more as its tad heavy at level 2 in combination with the Hurricane.

Again, you should let me know what weapons you'd prefer to use however, because I'd rather suggest a build based on what you WANT to use, rather than what I'm telling you to use.

Why not use the paladin instead of the carnifex and put a scope on it and damage mod? Because its heavier?I usually us a javelin with a damage and more compacity. And a hurricane with scope and increased compacity

max dmg turret with flamer and max weapon dmg. use plasma shotgun (geth dmg boost).

turret work as heavy dmg decoy that can in best pull banshees and brutes like magnet for easy kill.

plasma shotgun has insane damage no matter what class, and is most accurate weapons in game due the slight homing effect.
