I appreciate you taking the time to look, N7Calibrator.
The first link, by Bob67, is actually a different casual outfit, recoloured to look similar to the fourth casual outfit. The second link, by Ottemis, was one I just discovered a few hours earlier (posted it on a separate thread, where I was looking for skin textures). A thought I had after starting to use it was something that came up previously with Lyncoln. The rank on her shoulders is different than the rank on her collar, so one or the other is incorrect. (Fairly certain two bars is the correct rank.)
As for Smarteck's N7 armour, I can't stand it. (No offence to him.) Call it artistic differences. I like the smoothness of the in-game model, Smarteck adds a ton of excessive bump mapping to it, ruins the N7 logo, and discolours the chestplate (twotoned colour pattern, drawing unnecessary attention to the breasts -- particularly unsettling on BroShep). I pointed this out on Smarteck's thread, so this actually feels like double-posting to me. I love him for making it, but it's just not to my tastes so I don't use it.
Here is an N7 armour set, by Ellise, for FemShep that has the N7 logo intact, doesn't use the excessive bumps/ridges, and doesn't twotone the chestplate so horribly. It's not quite as high resolution, but that's that's currently the only set that I find aethetically pleasing.
The difference is that Bob67 actually not just created a high res version of this outfit but he managed to transform it , adding new details completely while keeping the quality top spot. To me , that's a total different thing than just making a high resolution version of something. It can take hours of work, depends on how much of a perfectionist you are.
Same goes for Jean Luc ; I loved all the high res textures he did for ME2 but I was blown away (in a really good way) when he releashed Miranda's default outfit for ME3. It was refreshing to see that character in a real outfit for once and the way Jean Luc did it was exceptional. Things like that are what make the game itself even greater & easier to replay. I understand what you mean though ; sometimes you just want exactly the same textures just high res , which is difficult to find since almost everyone goes to far with the
sharpening.
Regarding the armor I agree completely with you on this one. Jean Luc did great on ME2's N7 armor while keeping it smooth and it's hard to find an equal texture for ME3, quality wise. Thanks for linking Elisse's texmod, I'll give this a go next time!

Indeed I've been using the first one. Thanks for linking the others, mate.
Let's
face it though, seldom has there been equals for Jean-Luc's work (a few
have hit the ball out of that park, i.e. MACharlie1, IBR, DeadMeat,
others) and it's a shame that Bioware didn't think it worth it to earn
some goodwill with the folks by releasing a DA2-type "High Res Pack."
given ME3's PR history. I, for one, am appreciative of all the work
these fans-turned-artists like Smarteck have done to improve our
experience.
No problem at all. =) Again , we're on the same page on that . Whilst Jean-Luc is still one of the best & one of the first people that took the whole series to a new level, there are still some other really great modders out there. Smarteck , DeadMeat, Hani Kime, MACharlie1, GoldenSkans, IBR, ELE08 and many others. I like to give credit to them all and not compare , since they all put a lot of work on their projects and are kind enough to share with us.
And yep, we're still waiting for Jean-Luc to strike again with his awesomeness - let's just hope he got a new mouse.
