Oh hey, JL... before I forget it, check this out:

It's the page of a team of people working on a Modding Tool for ME3, that among the other things already makes possible to implement ingame custom and hi-rez textures without using TexMod. WIth Smartek's stuffs seem to work, but from what I've seen he makes hi-rez only the textures, not the bumpmaps too... but well, have a look and see if it can be useful for your modding projects too :)

It's still a little fuzzy. I know I attempted to replace norm maps with an error since they're in TGA format but the tool won't replace unless it contains mipmaps which a TGA file doesn't contain. :(

If this works, I just might kiss you.  I'll give it a shot!.

Just writing to say you are, without a doubt, one of the best texture modders around for ALL games, full stop. You're one of the very few who seems to understand appreciate the original artist's vision and work, rebuilding the textures just as they'd look as official HQ packs. Too many others, though doing their best, stray from the original art by layering on HQ patters/textures while taking liberties with the original design to add their own flair.

You working on ME3 excites me greatly, and I look forward to playing through the game again with your standard of HQ character skins. Now if only we had someone with your talent and accuracy handling environment skins!

As a side note, prior to ME3's launch I played through ME2 using your character skins, and documented the entire experiencing with a ton of high res screenshots. If you or anybody would like to see how your work shaped up over the course of the game, you can check my thread and all the images here: http://www.neogaf.co...980&postcount=1

Thanks again, and keep up the excellent work.

Awww thanks, I'm flattered!

Also, in regards to the bolded section, who says I'm not getting involved in that this time around?  Oop, I've said too much :bandit:

And for our next release, Ms. Miranda Lawson.

Download Here

Coming soon:
- Miranda's Alternate outfit (I hope, anyway)
- Ashley's "old" texture
- Mordin Solus
- Samara
- Liara's default outfit

There's a lot more after that; I just haven't decided which I want to focus on yet.

Just updating with my experimentation of this:

1. I'm not sure if anyone else gets this but modifying line texturegroup[...]_1024 to 4096 reults in some nasty blocky shadows on some character textures that haven't been upgraded. Once they get upgraded, it goes away.

2. Norm maps are still a problem. They need to be a TGA formatted bump V8U8. It's the way it was compressed from what I've researched and it's not something thats programmed into Photoshops DDS plugin. That and it has to be TGA regardless.

3. Spec maps. Maybe it was just a one time thing from me goofing up when resaving the DDS but it didn't have pretty results in-game. it works - it just has to be saved correctly. DXD5 DDS I believe.

Not sure if you've given this a shot, JeanLuc. But I figure you're the type thats been pretty good at figuring these things (in regards just to the textures themselvs) out one way or another.

There have already been texture mods for Liara and Miranda. Would it be possible to work on projects that haven't been done at all? Not trying to be negative, just asking as a fan.
Thanks a bunch for your work.

Not to sound egotistical, but they haven't been done by me.  Besides, hasn't Smarteck done...everything? :P
Besides, Liara's is simply a port of what I did for ME2 so that won't take more than a few minutes, and my Miranda redesign is custom.  I appreciate the suggestion though; I'm just trying to get the easy ones out of the way before I move onto the more involved work.

Also, for my next trick, here's another release.   In this one, I did what I could to restore Ashley's face to be more in line with what she looked like in ME1 and ME2.  I'm actually quite happy with the results.

Thank you so much for these! I went from playing ME2 with your textures to the ME3 defaults and the results were...jarring. Now the ME3 characters look much more realistic.

P.S. Can't wait to see what you do with Jack's new look when you (hopefully) get around to it :D

Hey just a quick question, I was wondering which format you save your mods in after you edit them? Someone over on another forum found that saving the file in the DDS format makes the mod less taxing on the computer's memory, allowing for more mods to be loaded at the same time.

I'm using .dds.

Our next release is going to be the port of Samara.

Also, if any of you can recommend a hosting site for these files, I'm all ears. Gamefront is good, but they can be inconsistent.

UPDATE:  You can now download Samara's mod here.

@JeanLuc

I can see the difference in textures for Miranda/Samara/Mordin (all fantastic), however, is the only difference for the Ashley texture just in her "old" face, or does that include the armor too?

How is Ashley's hair built into the character model? Is it a separate, replaceable value? Because man, if we could get her bun back...
