Hi... Great mod, looks awesome. To install it for a Origin's ME2 edition, should I follow the "retail" instructions?
Edit: Also, I have Win7x64. I assume that I have to extract "Texmod" in "C:Program Files(x86)Texmod", right?
edit2: I read in the original thread there are two kind of files, Optimized and Ultra. Are the ones in this thread Ultra? I want ot avoid the 15mins that take to load the Ultra ones.
1. Actually in Origin, once you run the game at least once (activating it), you don't have to fool around with all the renaming of the executables. Under [...]\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries\\ you'll have two executable files - MassEffect2.exe, which requires Origin to run, and ME2Game.exe, which doesn't require Origin - so use that one in Texmod.
2. It doesn't matter where you extract Texmod, since you still have to manually load the executable (recommend ME2Game.exe) and the texuture packages. For ease of access you can extract it in your game folder and just make a desktop shortcut.
3. Most of the textures available on this thread are 4096x4096 - that means they're the ultra version. Some of the optimized versions are availalble on
LordProtector's mirror. Others are scattered across some of Jean-Luc's older threads. However, I whole heartedly recommend using the ultra version, just get tea/coffee while the game starts up. Trust me, they're beautiful and worth the wait - at least until someone skilled enough repacks them with ME3Explorer

.
cheers!
