Woah I found this thread by complete accident. Awesome you're back! I remember using your textures back in ME2 and they are so awesome it completely broke my game by cutting FPS by half... good times.

I've been using smartek's textures, and they didn't slow my game down a bit. Still long loading time but the game was completely smooth. Is this an improvement of ME3 or what? Still the same old PC.

Anyway, are/will you coordinate your effort with smartek at all? Or are you two doing something entirely different? I notice he's doing a lot of environmental textures, while you're focusing on the characters. But smartek is also doing character textures, what's the difference between yours and his?

Mass Effect 3 evidently runs Texmod much more smoothly than ME2 on Radeon cards. I don't know whether that's an engine improvement or because we're launching via Origin instead of Steam.

JeanLuc has stated he will not plan his mods based around the work in Smarteck's thread (http://social.biowar...index/9735492/1) .

Question for others on this thread: have any of you tried using ME3Explorer (
http://me3explorer.wikispaces.com/ ) to load mods? It actually replaces the original textures so it's not necessary to launch through Texmod every time.

I prefer Smarteck and I to have our own distinct styles; it lets us have fun giving our own interpretation of characters, and it lets players choose which they prefer for their game.  My current focus is characters, since they're the area in need of the most help, but I'll be touching up a few of the more lacking environmental textures as well.

Decided to test something firmly in the realm of "for sh*ts and giggles," but I'm liking where it's going.  This is a VERY early WIP for Miranda's alternate appearance.  As you can see, I haven't even changed the specular or normal map to fit the new textures so everything still looks like rubber

I was hoping to put her in a stylish coat of some sort, but the model pretty much forbids it.  Still, I think it's an improvement over that white catsuit of hers.

What if the seam was made into a zipper? And additional pockets and smaller zippers were added?

That's cool, I don't know if you've tried/seen his textures, my question really was that, what exactly are you guys doing that's different? Are you editing game models as well or it's just the graphic texture that's different?

We're both just working with the textures.  Mass Effect isn't mod-friendly enough to let us alter the models.

Also, for those of you who are interested, here's a better shot of what I'm going for with Miranda's alternate outfit.

There is a reason why I prefer your expertise in these matters. :)
Some of the other textures that I have seen (especially for Miranda and EDI) just took too many liberties.  Your textures actually "feel" like they should be in there.  Just my opinion of course.

As for your "alt"-Miranda: I really like that texture in the center coat.  MACharlie1 has a great idea about the zipper.  This could be version of Shepard's N7 Jacket for Miranda sort a speak.  Fantastic work as always.

That Miranda is 100 times better than the original. It gives a real sense of a futuristic take on current clothing styles.

Wow with that Miranda texture she will look 100 times more better! And a lot more smoother with her relief map model.

Very, very nice, it was quite bugging that Miranda, playing the solo fugitive still kept her Cerberus uniform (I can kinda understand Jacob, since's he's with an whole bunch of ex-Cerberus, instead). Do you have other good redesigns like this in mind for the future? Because I'd so look forward to them, in that case!

Hey, I just noticed your new Tali has those vertical forehead lines. Love that little added detail.

You know me, "attention to detail" is my (bizzare) middle name :P

Also, though I have nothing to show, the next release will be my first custom one for ME3: EDI.

Any chance you could go back and update the ME2 model of Tali with it real quickly? About to play through it now. >_>

And here we go! Miranda's alternate outfit is now available for Mass Effect 3 AND Mass Effect 2 (with appropriate color schemes for each). Enjoy!

So i take it that we can have Miranda in her original (JeanLuc'd) catsuit OR this alternate outfit in ME3??

And the ME2 Alternate replaces the ME2 Alternate Appearance pack outfit, or her default (or loyalty) ME2 outfit??

Great work on all of these too JL, I'm holding off my latest ME3 playthrough till you have worked some more of your magic :)

Very well done on the alternative outfit i loved it looks really fantastic! Both outfits are very smooth and really look great and again you keep the artistic intergrity of the original ideas.
