Woah I found this thread by complete accident. Awesome you're back! I remember using your textures back in ME2 and they are so awesome it completely broke my game by cutting FPS by half... good times.
I've been using smartek's textures, and they didn't slow my game down a bit. Still long loading time but the game was completely smooth. Is this an improvement of ME3 or what? Still the same old PC.
Anyway, are/will you coordinate your effort with smartek at all? Or are you two doing something entirely different? I notice he's doing a lot of environmental textures, while you're focusing on the characters. But smartek is also doing character textures, what's the difference between yours and his?
Mass Effect 3 evidently runs Texmod much more smoothly than ME2 on Radeon cards. I don't know whether that's an engine improvement or because we're launching via Origin instead of Steam.
JeanLuc has stated he will not plan his mods based around the work in Smarteck's thread (http://social.biowar...index/9735492/1) .
Question for others on this thread: have any of you tried using ME3Explorer (
http://me3explorer.wikispaces.com/ ) to load mods? It actually replaces the original textures so it's not necessary to launch through Texmod every time.
