My secondary is GPS IX. I cant choose between the harrier and typhoon though.

personally for me (no matter what class I'm playing) I go with the typhoon because of the high ammo capacity. Harrier isn't really worth it because (at least on gold) you can only take out about three enemies with it before running out of thermal clips (and even less on platinum). Typhoon has a good enough damage and also a high ammo capacity.

Really it entirely depends on your play style, but personally I would go with Typhoon.

Note that this is coming from somebody that doesn't have a destroyer unlocked, so i don't know what his capabilities are.

If you have "Barrage Upgrade", use that with Harrier.

I tried both and I agree with Cptsketc : Typhoon roxxx.
Harrier + devastator mode is chewing trough ammo too fast. It's either shoot - run to ammo box - shoot - run to ammo box or using all of my thermal clips within the 3 first waves.
Typhoon for the destroyer is like the minigun for the terminator : "This one has been made for you"

The Typhoon is made for the Destroyer... because of DM Accuracy+Rate of Fire+Mag size+Damage AND "stagger immunity" makes it the PERFECT weapon for him.

You "can" use the Harrier, but it doesnt benefit nearly as much on the Destroyer as the Typhoon does, not to mention you cant put nonstop fire on armored targets such as Banshees (Destroyer+Typhoon = cannot be grabbed by a Banshee if all bullets are landing on target because of DPS output).

The Harrier is a good gun, but its not right for the Destroyer in my opinion because of its limited ammo capacity and smaller clip size. Revenant or Typhoon are "must use" weapons on the Destroyer in my opinion.

my favorite character that i have is the Paladin (btw, pronouced: pah-lad-in or puh-lad-in? still not sure) but the vorcha is the most useful, mainly thx to bloodlust full health regen

As much as I love the Harrier, the Typhoon is by far the ideal weapon for the Destroyer, for the reasons stated above.

For what its worth, after the latest nerf... if you've got a Revenant 10 I'd suggest using that over the Typhoon now. Less exposure time to deal similar DPS. It doesnt have the range, but it'll provide a safer damage output (because you dont HAVE to expose yourself for 3+ seconds to get good DPS, unlike the Typhoon which requires it).

Harrier isnt a bad choice, but I just think you'll find yourself chewing through ammo too fast.

I've swapped out my Typhoon for a Revenant/Saber + Piranha build. (Saber for Gold and below, Revenant for Platinum)

I'm still using the Typhoon even after the nerf, I find that on long distances the revenant is too inaccurate to do much dmg, and on short distances the Piranha beats them both anyway

Hi guys, noob question here, but where are you getting the latest nerf information on the typhoon, buff to pull etc?

I heard it from commentators on youtube a few hours ago, and people on these forums discuss it, but after searching I can't for the life of me find the topic in these threads or on this site...

On topic, just got the harrier about an hour ago and it's amazing. Had the typhoon for a week so I got to use it pre and post nerf. The difference is definitely noticeable.

The harrier is amazing though - the only downside being ammo. So, put thermal clip mods and gear on the harrier and voila! You basically have a pre-nerf typhoon. Deadly on the destroyer with Destroyer Mode on, great synergy.

EDIT: The game does encourage team work as it's co-op, so if you can get someone to play Demolisher that gets rid of the problem too. Also, OP has Harrier at IV which is pretty insane, making it even more viable.

...But the revenant and typhoon ammo/clip are probably best for platinum as posted above.

TLDR:

Platinum - Typhoon or Revenant
Anything below Platinum - Harrier ftw

I might rather go with the Harrier in this case. I would assume that this is a question about secondary weapons, meaning the OP is probably using the Piranha as a primary. I would just go with the Harrier in that case, because even if you run out of shots in the Piranha, he can just equip the Harrier and make his way to an ammo box while not only having severe firepower availible, but also enough ammo to get to the refill box.

The Harrier really ain't made for sustained fire, but it damn sure is made for efficient killing.

If you use cover, go with Typhoon Piranha combo. If you like to move around in the open, go with the Harrier Piranha combo.

I find on gold, you're better off moving between cover (unfortunately that means you need to do it the batarian way) and using the Typhoon. You will switch to the Piranha when you have the Oh Dookie! moments.

Barrage Package after III works awesome with both; however the Assault rifle grenade package is also worth a look.

 Typhoon. Always Typhoon, if you don't have a piranha, take any high rate of fire weapon (like the geth smg), put oversized mags and reduced heat consumption (or however that mod is called) and unleash a rain of fire on the weaker enemies, very useful against smaller infantry when you don't want to use the typhoon or you simply don't have it
But yeah, Typhoon and Piranha on the N7 destroyer (more damage loadout) is the ultimate combination, especially together with multi- frag nade launcher, at mid- to long range you can mow down any foe with the tyhoon and at close range wipe them out with the piranha (btw, when I first heard of "piranha gun" I immediatley thought of the "piranha gun" from the movie "despicable me" lol
