The private lobby is open to all of your friends which is great if you (like me) don't like the PUGs, but sometimes you want to solo a game and it would be awesome to not have to mass spam all your friends to tell them not to drop in.

Just a suggestion, but I would love to see an "Invite Only" lobby..
The private lobby is open to all of your friends which is great if you (like me) don't like the PUGs, but sometimes you want to solo a game and it would be awesome to not have to mass spam all your friends to tell them not to drop in.

Alternatively, teach your 'friends' some manners - e.g. to ask before dropping into a game of yours.

I'm not their mother
Sometimes I like opening up a lobby and wait for someone to drop in..
It's like roulette, I get to play with different people on my friend list every time.
Just thought it might be an option to have 3 Lobby choices. Sorry if I made my friends sound rude, that was not my intent.

I don't know what platform you're on, but almost all have a feature which lets you appear offline.
Look around for an option like that.
(PS: People dropping into your game without asking is quite rude, IMO.)

If you're on 360 and set yourself to appear offline, your friends can't join your private games. Even if you are in a party with them, they can't join without an invite. Press the guide button on the controller, then cycle to the far right. I think it's under Preferences > Online Status or something.

I agree, especially if you are actually waiting for a specific person. <_<
On the flipside, I also don't respond to invites that are simply "Name has invited you to join" because in most cases, they spammed anyone on their friends list that was online, and when I finally get there, through the myriad of loading screens, having stopped my single player game for it, that lobby is, get this: FULL.
Since, at this stage, you don't need an invite to join (it just marks permission) I've made it clear to anyone on my friends list I've talked to or played with that I only respond to text invites (or invites from friends I know are 'good for it'). You can only invite from the lobby anyway (I have amusing memories of friends messaging me a simple, desparate "help" in between waves to get support in-game), so you should be able to say "Hey! Want to join me for a match or two?"
Better still if you give me more details, should your lobby already have set something up or you have ideas: "...two-man Silver? Three-man Gold? Full team Gold? Casual full-team Silver? Bronze with deliberately rubbish builds for the trololols?" etc.
For that reason, something to prevent invite-spamming would be nice. Or at least something to tell the difference - for example, an "invite all" option, which sends the message "<name> is calling for aid in ME3 MP." or similar - making it clear there's no guarantee of a spot.

you can set yourself to offline status or you can start a party thats invite only so nobody can join your party and they can't join your game w/o an invite or being in the party

But that is not possible with origin or the game.. To have an invite only.. That's why I asked about it. =) I tried the offline/invisible thing, but it still doesn't work when I'm in game.

Then I have to close the game to change the status back to Online..
I've tried and I can NOT change my online status while in game..
I have to restart game everytime I want to change it..

If you mean exit the game to dashboard by saying "close the game" you're doing something wrong. Because i changed my status being in game just fine.

Maybe I need to update everything one more time then.. Have done 4 reboots of the whole system and no luck..
Ah well, quitting never got me anywhere so I'll keep at it.. =)
