Twas sarcasm, but actually, it's us ITers who didn't get a complete game, because with IT there is no ending at this point. Literalists have no reason to complain because they've always had a full game.

Whoa, hang on now - you're saying that people should be happy with a complete game, even if the ending was utter garbage?

No, I'm saying you can't have both. IT is an incomplete game that's really good, literal is a terrible ending, but a complete game. It's when literalists complain about the game being incomplete I get confused.

I agree, OP. I suppose boycotting subsequent DLC-releases will speak even louder than our words here, but I do want to make sure that the valid criticism is still heard - just to avoid creating the impression that Bioware got away with what they did. (They refused to even talk with the fans and address the issues with the ending - and continue to do so to this day, instead recording podcasts with their own PR-people who make sure to avoid all the difficult questions.)

So you're boycotting any attempt for them to try to make the game better? I admit I don't really understand this tactic.

I find EC wasn't a "kind desire of heart" from BioWare to make "game better". It was a PR-move to make things better for them and make people to shut up for couple of months, so the sales stop dropping. EC may make game better for some players, but honestly, I do not think it came out of good intensions and care to listen to fans' feedback.

They're a corporation, everything they do is a coldly calculated move to bring about profit. EA doesn't care about you and never has. Some individual people at Bioware might, but they're not making the decisions.

I can only speak for myself, but I personally won't buy any DLC unless it changes the endings in a significant way. I detest the ending to this game, and I can't bring myself to play the SP (in comparison I played ME2 20+ times). I really don't see any way they can market the DLC to people who hated the endings ... whether or not we're a large enough bloc to have a financial impact remains to be seen.

How are they making the game better? As far as I'm aware, no future DLC is aimed at fixing any issues with the game as-is. They'll only add further side quests taking place prior to the ending.

I understand it... except it's BioWare (they still operate under their own name ;) ).

I am just saying that as a customer I feel I have all legitimate reasons to boycott such "improvements" because they weren't meant to come from "pure heart" and did not satisfy me. Just answering the statement about "attempt to make game better" as it wasn't about game for BW.

I'm here for three reasons

1) Bioware used to be one of my favorite game developers, until they decided that they were artists first and entertainers second.

2) No details have been released about DA3 to discuss yet.

3) Owning a registered copy of ME3 lets me post on these thread and dangit I'm getting my money's worth from this game one way or another! If posting here proves to be more fun than actually playing the game, then SO BE IT!

They didn't release subpar product, they released a product that you didn't like. I hope you can see the difference.

Yes, one that they lied about extensively prior to its release. I hope you can understand why people are angry.

Im here because im still in awe with BW's lack of caring, still hoping they could change and talk to the fans instead of hiding in their hideyholes.

This.

If Casey and Mac told me truth - ME3 is a linear shooter with almost all RPG elements gone, no ME2 squadmates and cheap Halo rip-off plot and finally ABC endings... Well... Maybe I'd bought it after some time. But no, they promised true masterpiece which 16 widely different endings, every choice matter and no Reaper turn-off button. True RPG incorporating everything from the previous games.

It's like buying a new good Volvo car, only to see that it is ******* 20 years old russian Volga which is crap.

I spent the last many years loving the hell out of this franchise. I can't just stop now.

ME3 is a rushed, disappointing money-grab, and I will never ever stop voicing my discontent. I have no problem with people loving it, opinions you know.

But ME3, to me, was supposed to me the greatest game of all time. It was supposed to be huge, with an insane amount of variables and it was supposed to be Bioware's crowning jewel. The first time the studio made full trilogy, and they stumble at the finish line.

I don't just hate the endings. ME3 disappoints with many, many things. Priority Earth is a horribly dull last level, the whole game just feels uninspired, like they wanted to be done with it and move on.

I will never stop. ME3, you were supposed to be the chosen one.

I am here complaining (whining) to make a point - you do not treat your customers like that. Maybe they will listen, maybe not (99% chance they do not listen at all), but this will never be forgotten.

For the better games.

They have already gotten away with it but the real proof will be the sales of their next product.

Still, chatting with like minded people is therapeutic.  It beats starting at a wall at the least and at best perhaps we can find something we do like in this game which we are all obviously passionate about.  No matter if we are on the side of those who liked it totally or not.

I know.  They really did it to themselves.  A victim of their own success I suppose.  Eventually something new will come along.  It is dissapointing to see something come so close but miss the mark.

I've got my eyes peeled for a new franchise to throw my love on.

But what franchise will come out and try to do what Mass Effect did? And even if there were to be another rpg/adventure/open world Trilogy being made, with transferable decisions between games, do we really dare to get our hopes up again?
Mass Effect came THIS close to succeeding, but their greed (or the greed of their bosses) made them drop the ball.

I'm keeping my eye on CD-Project. Currently playing The Witcher, but I'm going to play the sequel on the Xbox, so no transfers for me. Either way, I've heard there's not really much transfer going on anyway.
And, I must say, while I like the game, it is nowhere near the level of love at first sight, that I had with ME1 back in the day.

So close... so close to getting the perfect trilogy.

So, in short, you didn't like it.  As I said in my post.   However, not everyone shares your opinion.

This. So much this.

The only thing keeping me sane at this point is the fact that CD Projekt Red is developing a sci-fi RPG, which is ironic (and sad) considering how supportive I was of Bioware during the great TW2 debates last year.

It's subpar compared to ME2 to me anyway, aside from numerous clipping issues, there are some details in ME2 that added to the immersive affect of playing the game, examples of what I mean are, in ME2 you could open and close the bridge/observation deck windows, you could have a drink in the lounge, seems in ME3 everyone else can but Shep, your Prothean globe and N7 helmit are gone, should have been able to find them like the models around the ship (if you had them in ME2 that is).

It's the little things that are missing in ME3 that made ME2 superior to ME3 and granted planet scanning was dedious but you could land and explore some in ME2, where in ME3 you can scan an entire solar system and find a book  and probe it aboard , these things make ME3 subpar to the rest of the series.

This post I can relate to. If they had taken a serius look at ME 1, and then taken that game to the next level with each sequel, it would have been the triology that ended all other triologies. When I close my eyes, I can almost see it...

That´s the true reason why disgruntled players come back to this forum. The great "betrayal" of failing expectations. Nevermind it´s a good game with a powerful and memorable story. The thing just does´nt measure up to what they where promised by their very own imagination.

Now like slighted lovers they linger, shaking their heads and periodicly exclaiming "how can Bio get away with it?"
