Ah thank you for enlightening me.  So not agreeing with homosexuality is equal to wanting to randomly kill people.

I asked a simple question.

You are turning it into a flame war.

If you don't like what we are discussing then just leave the ****ing thread. If you have something useful to contribute about how the reaction was, then please do.

Don't waste our time please

I can only really speak for myself, not the BSN as a whole.

I'm happy for it. Anything that treats homosexuality the same as heterosexuality is good in my book. Despite being heterosexual myself, I do try the S/S romances. Steve was well done especially IMO.

I mean between Shepard and character, not between player's brain and Bioware trolls.

I admit the Apollo Cafe scene felt a little awkward. Could've been executed better.

As a gay male, i can safely say that my brain did not conjure up the image of Diana Allers in studded leather with chains around hands, asking me to whip her

Well Kaidan and Ash were supposed to be bisexual in 1 but Bioware chickened out. Then in 2 they both have this adoring hero worship speech. If anything Ash not being bisexual was more weird to me than Kaidan being so.

I thought the pre-Cronos sex scene was fantastic though

I thought Liara came as a submissive type and somewhat Tali, but Diana... Maybe

Cortez/Traynor were done very well.

Alenko...not so much.

Kaiden: "Have you ever known me to be...close to anyone?"
MyShep: "I dunno, you did spend most of your dialog in ME1 telling me about a girl you were in love with on Jump Zero, and how you killed a Turian for hurting her so, uh, yes?"

I think, in general, BioWare gets lazy with their PC-sexual characters, regardless of franchise. It's one reason Cortez and Traynor were such a pleasant surprise.

Hi everyone

I was just wondering what the general reaction to same sex romance being implemented in Mass Effect 3 was.

Did people make lots of threads about it? Was the overall reaction positive or negative? Was there any difference in reactions between the F/F options and the M/M options?

Thanks in advance ;)

Nobody cares except for those that were looking for some non-Liara ss action with their hot Femshep.

Yeah. Kaidan's romance as a whole is pretty awesome. It helps that Kaidan is a real 3 dimensional character. I just thought that specific scene could've been handled more deftly.

Whatever floats your boat!!

I love this game on this aspect! It's a personal thing and the options are there. I played an unfaithful "douche bag" heterosexual male renegade Shepard on one of my playthrough and a faithful paragon female Shepard that fell in love with Liara (many may consider this as being S/S but I don't care because I don't think Asari work that way...)

After my paragon playthrough, I realized that no matter if I played a male or female character in a third playthrough, I would choose Liara and be faithful to her as a favorite option... Go figure!

Ah, I didn't know that. It makes a little more sense now. When I was playing I was like, "Wait, you're gay? Since when?"

Are you aware that not everyone who plays mass effect is a straight male?

As a gay male, I cared, and t's certainly not because i wanted my 'hot femshep' to be able to have sex with more women to create pornography, which is by the souns of it what you wanted

The definition of a same sex relationship is a relationship where the people taking part in it are, you guessed it, the same sex.

Femshep is female. Asari are female. LiaraxFemshep is a S/S romance because, no matter what you say, femshep would only be attracted to liara's body if she was a lesbian, and so you can play a lesbian femshep but not a gay broshep in the first 2 games

IMO Steve is the perfect way to handle this. Both Anders (DA2) and Kaidan's introductory romance scene felt a little awkward, whereas Steve's doesn't at all.

From what I gathered, all the complaints has been taken out on DA2 already. Maybe people got used to s/s relationships on BioWare's games?
