I recently bought Mass 1,2,3 all together, finished 1 and playing the 2 but having an annoying problem.
I tried many things but still unable to get 5.1 surround sound from Mass Effect 1 and 2
,I tested Mass Effect 3 is fine, I got full 5.1 surround sound from Mass Effect 3.
I am using Gigabye P67A-UD5-B3 motherboard's onboard realtek sound card and use the optical link to connect my PC to my home theater amplifier(support all 5.1 format, including Dolby TrueHD)
I can get 5.1 surround sound in ANY game I've bought that are suporting 5.1, including Mass Effect 3.
I see Mass Effect 1 and 2 are both supporting 5.1 but how can I enable 5.1 for my PC?
is there any way I can do that? Thanks
Mass Effect 2 5.1 sound problem

Mass Effect 1 doesn't support surround sound on integrated sound chipsets. You'll need a sound card with EAX, which no one buys these days. ME2's 5.1 worked perfectly fine on my Realtek HD, and I have no idea what may cause the issue.
