By now you have probably heard that Operation OVERWATCH succeeded on many fronts. Frankly, I would not be surprised if this message goes unread until tomorrow due to excessive celebrating. This success will bring hope to billions of people. It will also enrage some of them. Be prepared for the tough questions – when are we starting our full-scale assault? Why retrieve this helium-3 magnate but not another one, or save my loved ones? Who are you to play God?

There are no good answers to these questions. The reality is, the Reapers have almost every conceivable advantage -- numbers, firepower, technology – and we make do with what we have. We strike and retreat because facing the foe head-on would be a disaster. Nowhere is this truer than at Earth.

We have started to give them a death by a thousand cuts. Take heart in this, celebrate, and relax tonight. Tomorrow morning, we will get down to business, because there’s nine hundred and ninety left to go.

We had 1.25 million extractions for the Allied goal and 133,000 extractions for the squad goal.


Reward packs will start to be sent out starting later today. All packs MUST be claimed within one week of being sent or they are no longer valid. We will be updating the countdown clock at the top of the page once the packs have been sent out to let you know they have been sent and how long you have to claim them.

They announced that a timer will be added to the top of the page...(The page, not the thread, so scroll all the way up) 

It's currently saying "Operation Overwatch SUCCESS! Community and Squad packs will be awarded today. Please check back soon for more details."


So wait for a timer to appear there, then reap your sweet rewards. They're making it easy for you here, so you don't need to launch the game to see if you can claim your reward. So no tearing your hair out while checking for downloadable content...twice....to see if it's there yet.

Thanks bioware- i believe the multiplayer has become superior in many ways to SP. You have really raised the bar. Now please work on some glitches and I'll be happy to call myself a fanboi again!

Well, there are some people who don´t play non-stop, or buy packs, or are thaaaat lucky ^^

And people who only started playing mp 2 or 3 weeks ago, like me. I also chose not to puy psps all weekend just in case I DID get an N7, to avoid the chance of getting a repeat in the victory pack.

yes, MP is better, mainly because of  better customisation, new weapons (and mods) and new powers

Oops, got all characters maxed and weapons except for typhoon at X first week. Darn platinum difficulty giving me awesome credits... a Typhoon II would be nice, also another Hurricane, heads will roll if I get another Eagle...

Wow, smashed the allied goal +50%. Fascinating to get a fair idea of the current size of the community (133000, plus a few "I won't extract, not even once, I have my creds now DIE" types) from the squad goal too.

I'm honestly surprised they shared the actual numbers, I would have thought the community size would be considered commercially sensitive.

'Of course the implications of knowing the community size leading to mathematical estimations regarding necessary contributions to allied goals may make success in future operations.. problematic'

Got the Victory pack but not the Commendation pack but I qualified for both.
