It's amazing how many times this topic comes up. I, for one, did not start playing MP until Late April...by then, the global and US leaders were already @ 5-6K N7 rank. I TRULY believe some players who didnt start immediately on MP (upon release) took offense to the idea THEY couldn't be #1, so their next goal was to insult the N7 rank and find a way to make those HIGHER THAN THEM look bad (ie - you must not have a life, rank is bogus, etc.)

Now, granted, as SO many people have stated, N7 rank doesnt OUTRIGHT indicate level of talent, and in some cases ($$$ players) doesnt even mean long experience. Yes, my rank is ~3000...why? Well, I had a running challenge with a friend. 1st one to 1000, 1st to 2000, etc...It was merely something ELSE to do with the game.

I am one of those players who only kicks on UUG or Platinum if the character/loadout doesnt work with the group assembled.

I cant WAIT until the WII players start showing up...guess we will have this conversation again.

As for death threats...I only hate BANSHEE MAGNET HANDS! :P

It was awhile ago. And I can't play right now, the servers disconnect me when I try to open up multi.

Think that the N7 rank was simply a convenient focus for the person's rage. Guy seems to have taken the kick personally. I bet the reaction would have been the same if OP's N7 rank was 9 or 9,000. I'd have blocked the sender upon receipt of the first message without responding. At tops, he'd have gotten a "my sincere apologies" response and a block. Just don't think that there's any good that can come out of conversation in cases like this. Best not to engage and just move on.

I've been kicked before for having an N7 rank less than 200. Mine is at 180, because I don't see the point in promoting when I have a ton of respec cards. I play multiplayer way more than single player, so I like having all my guys at level 20. Especially when dlc comes out.

Quick question, I heard someone in game mention that a higher N7 ranking has a better chance at getting N7 weapons and ultra rates in PSP's. Is that true?

Oh, dear lawd, yeah ... Image IPB

Nothing against BigN, I like the company good enough, but the base clientel they have would probably not mix well with the ME3 MP. Basically the same as XBox, just less ingame b****ing due to a very low spread on microphones.

If you really did get a legitimate death threat, then I'd report it as griefing (at a miminum). Nowadays, that stuff is no joke.

On another note: I look at both N7 and loadout, especially weapon evolution.

N7 ranking of 115 with a Cerberus Harrier IV and a Piranah VI on a Destroyer will not get any kicks from me.

...an N7 ranking of 35 with Matis I and Mattock I equipped on a caster class will get kicked or I'll just leave the lobby, most likely.

I highly doubt anyone who spews nerd rage over something so trivial even has the means of tracking a person down and making good on that threat.

That being said, n7 rank means absolutely donkey balls. Judge a player by their skill and demeanor, at least that's how I see it. N7 isnt a magic qualifier for anything. Can have an ultra high ranking and still suck at what you do.

Yes this is absolutely not correct.

I don't even play for points or kills.....I play to survive.....

It's funny.....Im a level 90 (because I use the same 3 characters).....and I'll be in a room with people that are like Level 1647.....and when I have 20,000 points more than them in round 6, they start following me around and trying to take my kills, or they just up and quit like poor sports....all because somebody that is ranked 1000 levels lower than them, has more points...

Kind of ridiculous considering we all get the same amount of credits in the end anyway....

You got a death threat? That's both hilarious and disturbing at the same time.

Indeed, would you care to share the context and wording? I am certainly interested in seeing that, if only for the comedy value.

I'm on Xbox (Go figure). I kicked him after he utterly and totally sucked in a match. He then started calling me out about what a big tough guy I am. It quickly devolved to the point where he said he would kill me. He saw that I lived in Alaska and eerily guessed that I lived in Anchorage saying that he could get there. I actually got a little unnerved and blocked communications and reported him.
While I know that he probably wouldn't have acted on it. It did freak me out a little that he perfectly guessed where I lived.

that almost sounds like a beginning of a thriller....

THAT IS FOR SURE! - Otherwise I would have all URs @ "X" by now (instead of a sh*t-ton of Level IV "stuff")

I had people mocking my N7 level at level 450, I shortly put them in their place after doubling all their score in game.

N7 ranking is totoally meaningless on Bronze and Silver.

But it definally means something when you enter a u/u/g or any platinum lobby.

I will kick whose N7 rank under 200 in platinum for sure.

cannot judge by n7 if ts 120 or higher, some people never promote so they have n7 sitting at 120, always look at other indicators of player's skill.

Spoken like a true retard. Should try looking at their loadout and not their n7, some people just don't promote. I don't usually unless I can't get any respec cards.

I think that people who get pissed off about being kicked need to calm down. If you talk about it calmly and rationally, it will get you a long way. You sound like a good guy, illusiveman. If you want to play with someone who knows what they're doing im on 360, too. My GT is AtR MuffinNinja. Im used to getting kicked specifically for my GT.

You sir have my thanks. I've never received death threats, so its hard for me to understand. But, the only way we're going to solve this is by putting people like this in their place. They need to be banned for a few days.

Wow, it's sad some people can't distinguish between reality and the game. What's that saying, "Silence is Golden". On your topic my rank is almost at 3K, I've been booted, have hosts leave when I join, I guess it goes with the territory. I will vote to boot when someone is away from the ready screen for over 5 minutes, unless they let us know in the lobby they are away for a few, then I understand.
