So its completely unfeasible for you to consider that it is possible that tali stole the specs?

For;
- from a tech craving culture
- scavenger life style
- pressure to provide for cultural lifestyle
- fearce loyalty to her people
- need to prove her loyalty
- spends all her time in engineering
- similarities with the ship she happened to be a guest on

Against;
- loyal to shepard (variable)
- do the quarians even have the facility to prototype designs given that the majority of their fleet is retrofitted and scavenged craft?
- do quarians have dry dock capability to build a ship? (seriously i don't know for these two questions)

Just saying it's possible, not definite.

Its definately possible, but there are many sources that the tech could be taken from, and many quarians that could do the taking. Hell, the Blue Suns might've taken it, and they picked it up on their raid of a blue sun base. There's many possibilities, including that its of Quarian design, so I don't think immediately blaming her is correct.

Here's the blue sun planet I'm talking about:

Why in the hell is this even a topic? Talk about making connections that aren't there. If Tali had actually stolen the Normandy's tech, they would have said so in the game. Besides ME3 takes place three years after the events of ME1. It's not unrealistic to think other races would have eventually developed stealth technology similar to that of the Normandy.

Short answer: Tali didn't steal the Normandy's tech, and anyone who thinks so is an idiot.

Tali more or less admits that she would, she says she's always sending technology back to the fleet. And you know what? I'm in love, I don't care. Seems like a win-win to me. I got Tali, the Alliance got her evidence, the quarians (who aren't in any conflict at all with humans anyway) got a bit of extra tech for their held-together-with-bits-of-string fleet.

I suppose I'd be a bit pissed (and in trouble) if it was real.

Are people looking this hard for reasons to hate the Quarians/Tali?

There is 0 proof Tali did such an act.

Lets see some threads talking about Asari and how noble they have been. And how they helped other races so much with sharing that Prothean beacon... oh wait...

LOL do you have a problem with this?
The quarians have a stealth vessel of unknown origin and the only known quarian who ever had direct contact with such a vessel is Tali. Seems like a logical assumption to me

You assume that the Quarians would not be able to achieve that tech on thier own.
Quarian's are known to be very tech savy.

You are making very large "logical" jumps and assuming Tali stole it.

LOL you has problem?

Don't the Salarians have stealth ships of their own? Clearly Mordin stole the tech when nobody was looking. What an a*shole!

Let's be honest folks, the idea behind the stealth drive isn't all that hard to replicate.

"Gee, starships are generally tracked by their emissions... I wonder what would happen if we... keep those emissions in a heat sink of sorts because I want to be stealthy."

Did she send some technical details? Sure, she WAS IN THE ENGINEERING ROOM. Duh.
Was she probably able to send the entire plans? No, I don't think it fits her character nor would Adams let her do it. Besides, she asks for the Geth data in ME1, which was also classified data.

And who knows, maybe the Quarians took some scans of the SR-2 back when we parked in the flotilla in ME2 and they worked it back from there? Hard to say, but don't care, had sex, got girlfriend, Alliance can sod off anyway if they are all as brain dead as the defense committee.

Yeah, STG put it on a dreadnought class ship too.

No, the problem is the Stealth Technology is entirely similar to the Normandy's.  Its not an analogue, they literally stole the idea from the Normandy.  Its left to be ambiguous, but the difference here is the game told you the STG copied the Stealth Drive designs and the Reaper algorythms with the IFF and made Stealth Dreadnoughts.

Its easy to assume the Quarians made one Stealth Frigate by scanning or inspecting parts of the Normandy when you were docked with the Migrant Fleet, or Tali might not have told you a few things.  I also understand I'm making a latter assumption, because I forgot there are playthroughs where you never visited the Flotilla.

I would say this, besides. A reaper war/geth war was starting and you expect them not to use the best tech they can get to prevent the extinction of their species?

Even if she didn't scan anything, Tali knows a lot about the Normandy SR1's engines by the end of the game, and she returned to the Migrant Fleet while you took a two year dirt nap...

It would be silly to think she didn't talk about it...

I never said they weren't inspired by the SR2, I simply said people that go "ZOMG TALI STOLE IT!1!!!1!!!11!" are making much larger "logical" jumps than me.

The Salarians have one of the most sophisticated espionage apartments in the galaxy. They are also allied with Humans and the Turians so one can assume it would be easy to get these plans. As a matter of fact the codex entry about the Salarian First Fleet says that they incorporated also the Reaper IFF in their designs which is an even bigger secret.
The Quarians are a nomad race who are allied with no one are actually despised in the galaxy

Who here, if they found themselves magically as part of the crew of some amazing alien ship, wouldn't bring back a few ideas to Earth (assuming that they understood any of it)? Unless Tali was sneaking around where she was told she wasn't supposed to go, trying to hack into computers, or had signed something saying she'd keep quiet then she's done nothing wrong (and Ash was arguably right).

Edit: and so what for anything that might've come from the SR2; I doubt Tali would've felt much guilt about anything she took from Cerberus (and my Shepard would've said she was welcome to it from them, but not from the SR1).

I just realized...
On the Normandy in ME2, Tali is aware of all of the listening devices the Illusive Man planted...
Which means she has been scanning the engine area...

The Tantalus drive is top secret.

So let's put the alien scavenger right next to it and in the presence of an engineer who is a) awed by her abilities, B) enthusiastic at her presence and c) likes to yell the intricate details of the drive's functions within earshot of her.

What did you think would happen?

It was my understanding that the Quarians being scavenging thieves was just a stereotype you, as Shepard, were meant to overcome.

So what? if I could i'd share the technology with everyone so that they could build stealth ships and fight the reapers.
