Well lets see the Geth wiped out millions of Quarians during the war with the Quarians, yes it ws self defence, but still no excuse to kill so many.

Not nearly as many suit rats as I'm going to wipe out in my next playthrough.  Well, technically I'll let the geth do that justice, but you know...

I fail to see why this is a bad thing. The quarians have never been an enemy of the Alliance (unlike some other races), and they're wholeheartedly allies against the Reapers.

Yeah, it's not like they saw the Reapers' invasion as a selfish opportunity to attack a REAL ally, the geth.

Real ally? Last time I checked the geths have been shooting at me for 3 games now while no Quarian has every touched me with a bullet once.

Yeah, it's not like they had their entire fleet open fire on a defenseless ship with you in it.

And it's not like that defensless ship was the source of an upgrade code currently transmitting to thousands of fully armed and hostile craft around it.

Gotta agree with you there, plus the Geth sided with the Reapers which made them collaborators who deseved to be blown into piles of scrap metal.

The reasons for opening fire made senseto me, if I was in a similar situation I'd do what Garrel did as well, after all if you get a chance to take your enemy out, you go for it.

Besides I never liked the Geth myself, it was a shame, I couldn't turn Legiond head into a desk lamp and put in Sheps quarters in ME2 or even 3 for that matter.:D

I'd have slashed open Garrel's throat right there in the war room if I had the option.

Heretic geth are called "heretics" for a reason.  Judging regular geth by them is like judging humans by (censored word for Hitler's party).

The geth let them go as soon as the left the Veil.

The Quarians would have deactivated/killed every single one of them.

Good theory and its very plausible, Tali just doesn't like the type to steal any tech.

Especially since she asks you if she can have the Geth data in ME1.

Exactly and besides the Quarians would only steal cause the Fasicist Council as I call them treat like fifth class citizens.

Now, I usually advocate for peace, but I have to agree that the Geth's record with siding with the reapers, the real enemies, plays a big role in who I favor in the conflict.  Every race will be put against the wall in this war, and only the Geth have the option of switching sides and have proven they are willing to take it.

Why wouldn't you?  The Migrant Fleet strip mines entire systems of resources.  Their population would strain any agriworld or Commerce planet.  They're regarded as gypsies because they salvage so much tech and many ships to continue living the way they do.  They don't integrate into society, and they proved the Councils Ban on AI Research for a reason when they were driven from their homeworld.

Whether you like it or not, stereotypes form for a reason.

Well considering how the Fasicist Council threatens to kill the Quarians if they try to settle on a planet, its no surprise they salvage so much tech, after all when you are homeless you become desperate and people who are desperate will do anything to survive.

History has taught us that look at the battle of Leiningrad during WW2 for example.

Tali was heralded as the best the quarians have to offer.  And that (female mabari) was stealing state secrets from the first person stupid enough to trust her.  It looks to me like there's a reason they're treated as fifth class citizens: they deserve it.

People make the mistake of believing this the rule rather that the exception.  They only let them go that one time because they so thoroughly obliterated everyone else they could not process what extinction of their creators would mean.

Also, you can bet that Xen would not have allowed the Geth to go extinct.  She would have reduced them to slavery and a technicality for sure, but they would none the less remain.

I wouldn't say so after all, you don't punish children for the sins of their parents no matter how bad those 'sins' were. Thats never justified.

Source? I really doubt it. The problem is that to settle on a new planet they'd have to find on that supported dextro-ammino based life.

Its a shame you couldn't go with Xens option in ME3 I'd like to have made Legion into a butler on the Normandy.

A few problems with that.  The Council for one will not let them settle, so they are forced to live on their fleet.  Also, since when would 17 million inhabitants strain a world?  The Earth's population alone grows that much in a few months.  Lastly, the Quarians stay in the Terminus systems, outside Council jurisdiction, so it's not like they trouble council worlds to begin with.

I don't know. From what i understood the let them go because they saw no point in exterminating them, it was not out of mercy obviously, but it's not from a lack of understanding.

If you convince the quarian fleet to stand down in ME3, the geth let them go, do they not? They only attack in self-defence.

LOL at Ekuna. Quarians broke the law and paid for it. Claiming the Council won't let the quarians settle anywhere because they didn't side with the criminals is like claiming <insert race here> isn't allowed to drive because a few of them lost their licenses after driving drunk.

I recently replayed Rannoch, and I interpreted it as not being able to comprehend how it would effect them.  I don;t have the quote though so it could just be one of those things everyone interprets differently.

As for letting the Quarians go, they are responding to a Quarian gesture of peace.  The biggest problem I have with the Geth is that they sought violent isolationism instead of ever seeking peace.  They make themselves a target because they allow things like the Heretic invasion to speak for them and never try to tell the galaxy they just want to be left alone.

Ah, didn't know about that. Still, colonizing the planet without asking for permission from the council was an illegal act, if they hadn't acted on that it would have set a really bad precedent. Other races could colonize any world they wanted without any consequences, citing the council's leniency for the Quarians. Those rules are there for a reason.

Funny the Asari kept a Prothean beacon on Thessia all for themselves, and thats against Council law, I guess the law doesn't apply to the Council. Still threatening to kill them to get them off Ekuna was wrong, shame you couldn't confront the Council about it, in a way they are worse then the Reapers.

True. They try to contact the rest of the galaxy very late (with Legion), until ME3 everyone saw them as very dangerous, not realizing they just wanted to be left alone and were generally peaceful.

Funny thing Ekuna.  It is located in the Phoenix Massing that is outside council space.  There should have been no council jurisdiction out there if they were so worried about upsetting the Terminus in ME1, silly thing plot oversights.

The Asari are hypocrites, certainly. But you can't justify a wrong doing with another one. Also, the EKuna matter was of public record, it had to be resolved by the book, whatever skeletons the Council races keep in their closets doesn't affect that, they have deniability.

Cerberus got the plans for the Stealth Drive Simply by asking for them.  REMEMBER:  Until the Events of ME 1, Cerberus was a Black Ops Alliance sponsered Group that actually helped get the drive built in the first place.

Engineer Adams also states that, Given a month on board, Tali would know more about the engines than he did.

Salarians could have scanned it after Virmire.  Commander Rentola might have (since it IS possible to kill Kirahe).

Quarians could also have simply been given the plans from the Turians in return for some assistance.  Salarians also might have done so.

As for Tali, one of the engine Room Banters REALLY puts Egg on her face about it in ME 3.

And Shepard didn't steal the Normandy SR-2.  EDI did.  Or did the third Log about her on Chronos Station not ring a bell?

:wizard:
