By this assumption, Garrus technically stole the designs of the Thanix cannon from the Turian Hierachy (who in turn developed this without telling anyone else until they'd finished it) and applied it to the Normandy which was a Cerberus ship. At that point, he had barely any ranking in the Hierachy and only went up the meritocracy when he told his Dad everything about the Collectors and the Reapers which was probably after Arrival.
I'm sure nobody here was complaining.
Garrus did so, but on a wholly different level. He was completely rogue at the time.
But unlike Tali, also transparent about it.
Yes, he did 'steal', but not from you. Not from his friend.

Now, if the Quarians suddenly had a Tantelus Drive Core, then that would be reason to get upset and freak out (since that WAS the big, top secret thing the Normandy had)

I find it amusing how OP treats his speculations as undisputable fact, and how many people are actually going along with it. This is reminding me more and more of IT'ers.
To be fair there's no reason to mention the resemblance to the Normandy's systems if it was just tech they developed on their own.

Plus, it doesn't have to be explicit steal of design. She could have merely said about the concept and someone developed it.

It's because all stealth tech in the ME universe works pretty much the same as the Normandy, regardless of how it was developed.Fawx9 wrote...

I wonder how Jacob obtained the asari ship armor

Or the Migrant Fleet scanned the Normandy during ME2?
Shh, there's no place for reasonable inferences in this kind of discussion. You can't gleefully genocide entire races for the rumoured sins of the few, then.
They did have to sweep the ship. Tali did request them to do so when she said that the ship is not clean or whatever.

It required a heavy risk, but the prize was worth it.

I didn't recruit Tali in ME2 (the Normandy wasn't anywhere near the migrant fleet)...and the quarians still had the stealth technology. But she was a mandatory squadmate in ME1 -> everything is Udina's fault.

Meh, atleast she didn't steal the Tantalus drive, that was what was really important about the Normandy's design. The stealth systems were both less expensive and less secret.

And... none of it is real so.... the characters? They cannot have emotions.
It's all scripted... and none of them can hate eachother.... or wish death upon eachother... because it's not real.
But you're doing it anyways.
Did I blow your mind?

The Tantalus drive is a necessary part of the stealth system isn't it? Regular thrusters would give you away.

What? Garrus must die now, along with all the turians. No mercy!
On the upside, the reapers will have nothing to harvest because everyone will be dead thanks to the reasonable Genocide-O-Matic reactions.

Snatching it from the SR2, with only Gabby and Kenny too busy exchanging sexual innuendos, would've been way easier.
In which case she was stealing from Cerberus, not the Alliance. I kinda have a hard time feeling sorry for Cerberus there, on account of them being Cerberus.

Are people looking this hard for reasons to hate the Quarians/Tali?
You don't need to look that far to find reasons to hate the quarians, to be honest.
Actually, yes, you do.
And I'm gonna guess you hate the Quarians based on the leaders choices made in the MEverse.
Living in this world and historical facts should show you that political and military leaders never accurately represent what the civilian population wants as a whole. Judging any group on such a large scale, such as a race, based solely on the actions of a few, is immature and narrow-minded.

Yup. She also (unwittingly) assisted her father in illegal experiments, then demanded that you help cover it up.
What's she hiding behind that mask...?

I agree with you a 100% there. You can't judge a whole group of people based on the actions of a select few.

Actually, no, you don't.
One can hate the quarians for their actions in the past and their actions in the present. Very, very few quarians are presented as actually accepting the idea that what their ancestors had done to the geth was wrong (in fact, only one comes outright and says that. Only one). Very few quarians present themselves as anything but "victims" of the geth uprising, when they, in fact, were the instigators and aggressors of the conflict in the first place. Very few quarians have been shown to be at least open to the idea of at least trying to genuinely broker peace with the geth.
When a race chooses to put a warmongerer like Han'Gerrel in a position where he alone can dictate what the fleet's actions are, they are responsible for everything he does (this is why I feel no remorse over letting the quarians die in games where I cannot make peace). Shala'Raan says that she *should* charge Han'Gerrel with treason...but she doesn't. Remember, there were five admirals voting on the geth war: Han and Xen voted for it, Tali and Zaal'Koris voted against it. The only way that the war would have gotten pushed through was if Shala voted for it.
The quarians are reaping what they've sown, and I can't feel sorry for a race that tries to paint itself as a victim in a war they started and chose to continue.

This amused us.
Hate is a feeling, an emotion. Emotions are subjective. Qualifying factors for an opinion are subjective.
I can't believe that you are actually trying to argue that opinions must be logical.
