Have been replaying Origins and come across a discrepancy over when Flemeth first appeared (under that name at least). When discussing Flemeth with Morrigan she gave the impression that Flemeth's time as the wife of Conobar was pre-Chantry. Yet the codex regarding Highever states that he was the last of his line and slain by his wife during the Age of Towers, definitely in the current Chantry time period. Morrigan says that Flemeth is definitely the Flemeth who was married to Conobar, so have I misunderstood what Morrigan was saying or does anyone have any light to throw on this?

it is intentional that Flemeth have many background, it depends on who you trust in the game.
Do you trust the Chasid legend, Morrigan, Leliana or Flemeth herself?
It is because the story writer want to give an impact on the Morrigan side quest, that is to kill Flemeth.
Do you want to kill her believing she is an ancient abomination who steal her daughters body? Or, you don't believe that crap, and decide don't want to kill Flemeth for that reason?
It also give an impact on how you feel about Morrigan, is she a liar or she speak the truth? is flemeth really have hidden agenda sending her daughter with you, or not? is Morrigan a power hungry who just want to steal her mother grimoire and sent you to do her dirty work, or she really fear her mother will steal her body?
Flemeth origin will always be a mystery, there will be no conclusion, and it will stay that way.
But in DA2, Aveline give a statement "I know what a Witch of the Wild is, a witch who steal children", Flemeth reply "bah...like i have no better thing to do!"
In DA:O, when you meet Flemeth, she say "it is an old story, even i have told her about it" (something like this) and "Morrigan fancy such tale, look how she dance under the moon"
So, in my perception, Morrigan story, Chasind legend, Leliana story, and all stories about her are not accurate, exaggeration and lies.

Flemeth: "Perhaps I am a dragon."
The Silent Grove reveals that Flemeth's daughter, Yavana, can speak to dragons and has been reviving them using Maric's blood.
Flemeth can change into a dragon, has a daughter who can speak dragontongue, has a daughter who is supposed to bear a child with the soul of an old god, who is a dragon, and has been reviving dragons ever since she met Maric back in the end of the Blessed Age.
Everything about Flemeth revolves around dragons, except for the fact that the Dalish treat her like she's royalty.
Also Witch Hunt and Dragon Age II pretty much established that who we are seeing is definitely not what is in that legend. It's probably a cover to hide her real identity.

The Dalish Keepers seem to know the true nature of Flemeth, hence why she asked Merril if she knew what she was.
If Flemeth was the Archon(who is a man btw,) then the Dalish would hate her, not bow before her, obey her, and show her respect.

Flemeth = Magister left behind when the rest went to the golden city
or maybe Flemeth = Andraste (both held the love of 2 men; if you count the Maker)
I really don't know but I do hope they explain more about her in DA3. Sorry OP, wish I could help on the timeline issue.

He/she/it has been swapping bodies for a long time...after the first body swap it would be easy to manipulate people.
It would definitely explain both her body swapping abilities ala only other one shown to do as such is corypheus...and he seems to still be able to call on old god powers, with Flemeth being first among them it would explain her know how on resserection and turning into a dragon.

I still think Flemeth is Andraste and the Chantery most likely twisted her story for their own ends with her ability to Fragment her self she could have easily escaped being burned alive as for flemeth's actual age don't think the legends are actually a good way to pin point how long she's lived it just shows how long she's been living in the wilds most likely she came there from somewhere else

I dunno I got the impression from Stolen Throne that the Dalish don't respect her they're afraid of her.

Alduin would be a better comparison. Guess that'd make Flemeth Akatosh. And Morrigan Parthuurnax
