I am just curious to who everyone's favorite origin companion will be, I have a feeling it will be Gorim(he's my favorite). Incidentally how do they write it so that Gorim can't join your party as a noble when you find him in Denerim? Since origin companions will never be able to join you.

Jowan especially since he was originally recruitable at redcliffe.

He apparently got "injured" on the way there and he'll be unable to ever fight again. Which roughly translates into. "My wife won't let me come out and play." Freakin' potholes disabling meh Gorim. The best was Gorim, the worst was Tamlen.

Did anyone else think that you'd "turn" leske back to your loving friend then whoops, he just got decapitated.

Gorim, definitely. Awesome character, fun to have around, and voiced by Steve Blum. What else do you want?

I liked Leske from the Dwarf Commoner - Origin as well.. he just seemed fun.

Just a pity about the "reunion" you have with Leske in Dust Town... :/

Gorim and Leske of course :)

And Dog from Human Noble origin, but that's a given.

What happens with the Leske reunion? I made the Dwarf Commoner just so I could play the origin but I doubt I'll ever finish it.

I'm curious for Gorim in the dwarf noble origin can you get one of the noble hunter ladies to sleep with Gorim?

Aw, I figured that would happen.

Leske was cool too. Such a shame.

You don't run into him if you're not a dwarven commoner do you? I don't remember ever talking to him with any other characters...

You do, he's in the prison in Dust Town. His "friend" dwarf commoner stopped eating and consequently died, you don't see him again after that.

No, because Gorim is all about the dwarven noble pc, and he's warrior caste anyway. Though they do comment about how much of a "shame" it is.

Gorim is the best companion in the Origins.

Shame he is less inspiring when you meet him in Denerim. <_<

Gorim and Jowan are the best characters among the main Origin companions. Jowan's kind of a whiny jerk, but he's reasonably well developed.

Did anyone notice that if you send Jowan to the Circle Tower after Red Cliffe, at the Landsmeet someone mentions that Lohgain's men rescued him before he got there? I really thought Jowan was going to come back at some point as a major villain, or have some bigger part to play, but it didn't happen.

Maybe they are saving him for the sequel?

Rescued? Surely that would be kidnapped wouldn't it?

Actually that just made me think about my current playthrough where I purged the circle of the mages and even despite that and Greagoir's refusal, Dagna still went to help out. Also I told Eamon to send Jowan to the Circle, completely forgot that I'd purged it. Shame if he gets taken again on route, would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when he walked in and Greagoir was there to greet him. His death would come swfitly me thinks.

Going back to your sequel idea, maybe, but I just can't see it.

On-topic, am surprised no one has mentioned Ser Gilmore, my female human noble had a thing for him. Leske is probably my favourite though.

So far I've only played through the mage and human noble origin. I thought ser gilmore (I hope that was the name?) from the human origin was quite interesting as well. I read somewhere that his body can be found in Howes torture room in fort Draken? If that is the case, I would hope to be able to interact with it sometime. I mean: you grew up with that guy and he kinda saved your life... You should be able to recognize him imo.

From the mage origin I thought both Jowan and Cullen are interesting figures (I know, Cullen isn't a companion, but anyway...). I was just slightly disapointed that Cullen isn't fleshed out more, like Jowan is.

Hmm... I know it won't happen, but I would really love it if you would be able to recruit a companion from your origin.

Gorim is definitely my favorite and Leske a close second.

Jowan is a nice companion, too, but he's more of a grey area, as far as I'm concerned.

Screw the current party, let's just have a force composed of all the Origin companions.

QFT!  I was awestruck by him when I played the Dwarven Noble origin.  He is unutterably kickass.

It's a pity that, if you were romantically involved with him as Lady Aeducan, when you go to Denerim you find that he's found another lady and gotten married.

So, taking that into account, I rather like Soris.  :)  I got the impression that, even after the Red Wedding in your origin story, Soris was still very impressed with your character's heroism (provided you take all the blame and save him).  But, when you come back, he's rather more worldweary, having had to deal with the purge...  After you free the slaves, I thought his line was fantastic: You're the big hero again, Cousin; must be nice, always winning...  I know it was a bit bitter of him, but I really felt sorry for him there.  (Anyone know what happened to Valora, btw?  Well, at least he can find happiness with a human woman later, in the epilogue!)

I told Eamon to send Jowan to the Circle,

Funny story, but when I first came across Jowan in my City Elf playthrough (I hadn't played the Mage origin story at that point), I thought he had Party Member written all over him.  Rather liked him there.  Less of a fan after Mage origin, though!  And, regarding sending him to the Circle...  I didn't think that was a death sentence when I chose it (that's what I did too), but the VO comments when you read that conversation in the toolset seem to regard it as such.  Plus the script that fires when you choose that has Jowan leave the DA world forever, just as if you execute him.  Harsh!  But it does give another perspective on the Arl Eamon plotline...  People have complained before that having the "third choice" of the Circle (vs. killing Isolde or Connor) is a cop-out.  But you have to have kept Jowan prisoner to get that third option, and if you do so then there's no option to let him go free afterwards.  So I guess the hidden cost of the third option might just be Jowan's life.

Gorim is by far the best. I like the Dwarf Noble Origin ending, where you can just dump your stupid party and go hang out in Orzammar as a Paragon with Gorim.

I've played as human noble and city elf and both my original companions have been pretty boring. Guess I need to play as a mage or dwarf next...

I agree with Thomas. THIS IS MY PURPOSE, I was forcefully conscripted.
