Tamlen sucked pretty epically. "Oh no! Tamlen is missing! Go and find him!" "Err, no, he's a tosser, I think I'll just go to sleep instead."

Gorim, tell the thread that you're the best origin companion.

So, taking that into account, I rather like Soris.  :)  I got the impression that, even after the Red Wedding in your origin story, Soris was still very impressed with your character's heroism (provided you take all the blame and save him).  But, when you come back, he's rather more worldweary, having had to deal with the purge...  After you free the slaves, I thought his line was fantastic: You're the big hero again, Cousin; must be nice, always winning...  I know it was a bit bitter of him, but I really felt sorry for him there.  (Anyone know what happened to Valora, btw?  Well, at least he can find happiness with a human woman later, in the epilogue!)

I think it's mentioned that Valora (also Valendrian) were taken into the 'quarantine'. So they were already shipped off as slaves before you get a chance to get there and save them :crying: that seriously made my city elf sad. Also, if you talk around, the reason Soris is so bitter is that after the player char leaves, he ends up being blamed for the purge by the other elves :?
But yeah, I really liked Soris.

Leske. He felt like my partner-in-crime with his dialogue.

Gorim is just brilliant, albeit his fanaticism is slightly scary during the Orzammer sections. You get the impression he may run an Aeducan Shrine on facebook in his spare time.

I like Nan in the noble origin background. Pity she can't join up and flatten Arl Howe with a frying pan to the head.

Gorim ftw! I asked him to hold me for the last time (it was a hug wasn't it? It's been a while since I did the dwarf noble) before they sent my lady Aeducan to the deep roads... and it made my lip tremble T-T

I like Soris too! He's kinda cute :3

Also, I found First Enchanter Dumbledore... I mean Irving rather cool (even though he isn't a "companion") :D his voice is fascinating.

And my nephew in the human noble origin! He was neat.

"Take that, dire bunny! All darkspawn fear my sword of truthiness!"

But then he died :(

I never understood this, because Valendrian will only get shipped off if you're a city elf and Cyrion is still alive if you're not a city elf, bah.

Gorim and Leske were my favorite origins companions.

Several NPCs in the human noble and city elf stories were also entertaining. I don't play the Dalish elf and mage origins often--the one is rather short and the other won't let me become an abomination. Still, Jowan is an interesting character, and (drat, I've forgotten her name) the Keeper's assistant who tries to help you find Tamlen (tosser material, definitely) is handy.

Gorim and Leske for sure.

Then Sulis and Ser Gilmore.

Jowan was rather neutral to me.

Tamlen sucked, like the entire origin. I think I might make a Dalish Elf character so I can simply RP him as a bitter wanker.

Tamlen was my favorite. Jowan was my least favorite. Say what you will about Tamlen but at least he's not a whiny **** like Jowan, I can't stand him. As far as I can tell, Tamlen was the only companion you don't see during the mainquest, but I didn't get far with my Dalish pc, am I wrong?

That's not true, he ambushes you later on, it's actually worthwhile to play Dalish just for that.

Leske, then Gorim.

Also Mum, from the noble origin. Kicking ass with your mum is fun.

Iona from the human noble origin, even though her death pose is a bit undignified.

Oh, you mean that actually join your party, and not that you party with?Posted Image

Gorim. Everyone knows the only reason he wasn't joinable after the prologue was because Dorf Aducan, Oghren and Gorim in the same adventuring party would be too much awesome for Fereldan to containt and even Duncan and his beard would have been annihilated by the explosion of Awesome that would have ensued.

I found that I liked or disliked my origin companions based on their attack screams. Soris was awesome with his "I've got your back, cousin!" Mother Cousland also had some good ones.

Merrill, in my opinion, is the absolute worst - I hate her voice and she's so whiny.

Indeed, what wouldn't I do to have a party consisting of Leske, Oghren, Gorim and dwarf PC. *sigh*

Gorim, Gorim, Gorim, Gorim, Gorim... how could there be any other choice? The fact that he can't come with you throughout the game is a disappointment, but I do like the end picture of you two abandoning everyone else to head back home together. I only wish that the princess could have an option of doing an 'Oh, yeah, Gorim? When we get back home? We're getting married.' routine. After all my dwarf did to save the world (and the fact that her rebound after hearing about Gorim's silly wife decided to go jump on a dragon and get himself killed, sigh), she deserved that much.

Following in my opinion is Jowan, but that's probably because more then anyone he has 'PARTY MEMBER' written all over him. He's a whiny twerp, but I don't know- I think it was at least an option for your Mage to be all 'Aw, but he's my whiny twerp' (or you could be all '...why does this freak think he's my friend?', but hey).

Following, probably Soris and Leske. Oh, and your mom. I actually didn't mind Tamlen, but Merrill? Booooring. Ser Guilwhatever, too, in my opinion. Lily didn't stand out too much, either.

GORIM of course.

Leske was great but then they ruin him on your return to Orzammar where he betrays you.. ugh.

Jowan definetly should have been recruitable I'd hope as DLC but Bio has already said not gonna happen. He was annoying but he had potential, after all the guy was regarded as weak by the circle but he was actually a pretty powerful blood mage... with a terrible spell selection though lol.

Ser Gilmore had potential but as he was underdeveloped. Just a brave loyal guy who worked for your father. Not your bodyguard/advisor/friend as Gorim is.
