This month's challenge is "Steampunk":

Clockwork and Steam-powered Inventions, Mechanical Wings & Prostetics, Specticles (oft with extra lenses) , monacles, eyepieces, goggles, Victorian/Industrial Era Clothing, Automatons, Almost anything from Arcanum CRPG or Dave Arneson's Clock and Steam, Myst or Thief series. (Magic may exsist, compete with or suppliment tech, but not to the extent of the pure fusion of say technomancy, here renissasnce/victorian/early-industrial science takes the forefront).

This theme was suggested by Carcerian.

Guidelines:
  • It must be fully working in game.
  • Use of vanilla NWN or publicly available texture is fine, though state-of-the-art amateur's work would require 100% original work, but that's up to you.
  • Teamwork is welcome.
  • Beginners most welcome, don't be afraid, just try, you'll be surprised!
  • All submissions must be finished, working, and emailed to builder@neverwinternights.info (or a non-Vault link provided) by September 1st, 2012 at 10 AM EST. Sooner than that is perfectly fine too. ;-)
Some things you could include in the download/email that would make packaging everything up easier and faster (otherwise I will just pester you with questions!):
  • 2da lines needed.
  • Screenshot *from in game* for use on the vault page (this also gives me hints on how to display the new goodie).
  • Portraits (if needed) of your new goodie. ** Placeables and monsters should include a portrait. **
  • Inventory icons (if needed) of your new goodie.
  • Any credits you would like listed.
  • If this is your first entry, please tell me what name you would like your work listed under and provide a link to your other NWN content if you want that displayed as well (the link bit is totally optional).
  • Also if you would like an invite to the CC Makers group, send Rolo Kipp a friend invite. The group is nothing spectacular, mostly just documentation on 2da lines.
  • If you are doing tileset content, *please* let me know ahead of time so I can get you the set and itp files to work with. I’m horrible at merging those so this bit you will need to provide.
Remember, the Challenge is all about fun, sharing, creativity and surprise!
If you have concerns/questions about this month’s Challenge please post in this thread.

If you want to discuss the Monthly Custom Content Challenge idea as a whole or wish to submit ideas/themes for future monthly Challenges, please post in its thread here
***When submitting a new theme, please provide a title and short summary of the theme.***

If you have a technical question about some custom content creation, please create a separate thread so that the answers can be found later by anyone, not just people interested in this Challenge. We'll try to help!

Have no fear and join the fun!

And finally, you can:
Vote for September's theme. The voting dead line is September 1st, 2012 at 8 AM EST.
Submit theme suggestions.
Email content to (for now): builder@neverwinternights.info

I'm going ahead and starting this one, since we haven't heard from Rolo Kipp in a while.  When he finds NWN time again, I'll change the email links back to the CCC gmail address (I don't have access to that account to check for submissions).

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of these...

Could you please Stop that excessively image posting?. My browser doesnt like a full flash of big images and it´s difficult to sort out the "showcased" things and I can only scroll down to the last reply... collect it somewhere into a categorie for insipration and good is;)

p.s. for the future: Why dont we create another thread for "inspirational sources" only;)

Nice work!

Might I suggest making the roof so that it overhangs the top of the structure a little, so that it's a little wider (at the bottom of the roof) than the walls of the building? One other thing and it's purely aesthetic, is making a flat cylinder in GMax/Max and using a planar map to apply that clock face texture- so the corners of the clock face don't show.  Not really a suggestion, just wondering how that would look.

Like this. (screenshot)

I didn't even have to play with the UVW mapping or anything in this case. Just applying the texture to the cylinder's end cap placed it perfectly. Well, probably not perfectly, but good enough to show what I mean.
