Banshee magnet Hands are not ONLY lag related.
Been dragged for 5 meters while host two days ago. Passed trough a wall in the process.
I remember seeing a post about that a few months ago, but was never able to use it effectively, cause any non shield/barrier regenerating character can not stay in this kind of situation longer than a couple of seconds...

I figured there would be a few people in the know who would be unhappy about me posting this, but I imagine one of three things is likely:
1. Bioware either can't or chooses not to fix it. Avoiding synch-kills like this is not an instant win button aside from a few rare scenarios set up on purpose (similar to glacier/white farming).
2. They do fix it and gameplay remains the same as it always was (with an added bonus of vanguards laughing at banshees for a week or two)
3. They nerf classes or buff the synch-kills. My only concern in making this more public knowledge.
Of course, my hope is they re-evaluate synch-kills all together but that's not exactly the easiest or cheapest fix.
