Stairs are not reccomended for everyone. If you experience side effects such as: drowsiness, stomach pain or banshee grabs then please contact your doctor immediately.
I'm on the 360, but the video mentions that it's not completely foolproof. I did get grabbed while I was tanking on the bigger ramp (where I started in the video) but that was because the banshee teleported beside me and the game registered her as being at the same height (which is the key to grabs).
Some stairs also have a smaller safe area because they're so... small.
Which map did you get grabbed on?

My buddies and I were playing a match and decided to die after wave 10 (normally extract but one guy had to leave). I wanted to go out with a bang and charged a banshee. Coincidentally, she happened to be on a ramp. Stood there for about a minute and a half trying to get her and her friend to grab me.
After that I needed to see if it was a one time deal.
