Also, thank you so much OP! Vanguards have become some of my favorite classes to run, but sync-kills are such a bummer. Even if this tactic is just used occaisionally, it will be super helpful.

I can't believe I've never noticed this.
I think sync kills belong but yes banshees are entirely ridiculous. In fact I remember someone posting something to the effect of bw would be making her less magnety in yesterdays patch. Nothing in the patch notes so game on. All they had to do was get rid of the pull you in from 10m away bull**** but noooooooooo. So now, I will commence to roflcopterwtfpwn'ing any & all banshees.
Btw, bet they fix this before they make her less magnety.

(and yes, it was a bad mechanic (insta-kill) to put in the game when melee and biotic charge are what's given to characters to do damage to enemies. It means some classes' most effective abilities can only be used against weaker enemies... and then when you face a boss with more health and defenses? Oh yeah, you have to kill them with one of those classes' less effective attacks.)

Standing around can only be done by a kroguard... melee hit and run or biotic charge hit and run when a banshee is on a stair are still doable. On vancouver, I'd say to use one of the ramp areas near the (helo-pad?) instead of those stairs, so that you have some room to move around.

Standing directly besides the enemy puts you on the same vertical height as it, allowing them to sync-kill you on stairs.
In short, it only works because everyone with sync-kills have very poor vertical reach.
