Actually, there are emotional involvements to at least four Origins, and i'd argue all of them. That you don't take into account the personal things about your origins and what it means later on doesn't mean it's not there.
Also, there was someone talking about 'class' checks. Apart from 'Mages', class means pretty much nothing in this game from a mook PoV. How does he know if you are something he doesn't agree with? Even mages, if they don't wear robes and so on, won't be 'seen' as such.
However, there are checks about other things, and good ones, too.
What is wrong with this game?

Well so far i ahve only played Dalish and Noble. The same problem apply to both. Significantly more in the case of the Dalish where your emotional attatchment to your origin is restricted to one scene. Noble is better in this regard but really significant events are few and far between for me as a player playing a character. Arl Howe is woefully under used and under developed.

Also the game somehow reminds me of Mass Effect 2
But the game isn't even out.
