Why was the Typhoon nerf Needed??

Not two seconds.  Atlas, less than a clip, even in the Platinum game I did the other day.  Banshee, more than a clip but not by much.  Prime?  Tough jerk, needed a decoy to distract it while the Typhoon fired on and on.

Maybe my Destroyer settings weren't two second material, but I doubt the feasability...

My guess is that it is meant to stop camping on FBG Platinum. A Demolisher, Destroyer, Paladin, and another decent DPS character could camp the small room of Glacier on Platinum. The Typhoon/Devastator mode nerf makes that much harder.

It should really speak to how ridiculous this nerf was that people have to make up such asinine lies as "it kills any boss in 2 seconds omgz" to support it.

Nope. I do this almost every day and the Piranha outshines the Typhoon on that map any day.

I just wish BW would fix all these bugs/glitches before nerfing everything. People are more likely to quit playing due to connection issues etc.. over buffing/nerfing.

Buffing/nerfing just requires the player to adapt to the changes, bugs/glitches make the game unplayable for some and just a plain nuisance for others.

I really enjoy being magna-grabbed by a banshee when i'm 30 ft away from her.

That's the best theory I could come up with.  I thought the Typhoon was fine the way it was.  There actually is a valid argument for nerfing the Piranha.

actually the harrier sucks on platinum. seriously no joke, takes half your ammo to kill 1 pyro. I love the harrier but it felt like it didn't do enough damage before promtply running low on ammo

It wasn't needed which is what is so ridiculous to most of us...It is an ultra-rare that certainly has drawbacks which the power HAD to compensate for and now that has been cut down considerably

 I... think it was that it took out bosses too fast? I never had a chance to try it. :(

This is the first nerf since the Vindicator where I'm seriously wondering what the heck it's about.

Piranha took out bosses faster though. And it's much lighter, much more common, better in almost every aspect. Well, except in the world known as KiraTsukasa's web of lies.

Its a shame I didnt get to try Typhoon before this nerf.

Oh well, I still want one.

That Indra buff looked cool, and Gold AND platinum damage gate got nerfed, so I guess its not so bad.

Devestator mode nerf? Why.

I've done platinum. The Typhoon is ballocks there, even with its massive fire rate. It's all about team synergy and careful deployment. With that in mind, good shotguns - the Claymore, Wraith, Piranha, Reegar, etc - are what you need for it - not the Typhoon.

Especially not now...

The gun did not need a nerf, it is kind of ridiculous how they nerfed it twice since it came out and it is an ultra rare made for sustained fire, but they take away it's effectiveness. I'm just hoping they come to their senses and rebuff it to make it worth of it's ultra rare status again but it is going on the backburner for me at least for now.

They actually nerfed it three times total. The fact that the revenant, a subpar weapon in itself, offers a higher DPS now is a laughable punctuation point to how bad BW's balance team is.

Nerfing two weapons to subpar stature in back to back weeks while ignorin the numerous and glaring problems I've already mentioned and more is a joke.

If they really wanted to 'balance' the Typhoon, all they had to to was significantly increase the weight of it so that only the Destroyer could really use it without any debilitating drawbacks.

So lets nerf any advantage we have, make sense to me.

Hyperbole is hyper. If your gonna open that hole how about stop playing something other than bronze?


Dude...how can he play it? He does not even have the typhoon & he is making tall claims about how OP it is. Just don't understand some people.

Please tell me what game you're playing to accomplish this. It's nonsense and the nerf was definitely not needed. I'm covinced BW has little sense in how they balance this game. 3 modifications to one weapon while ignoring blatant other issues in need of attention. IE: destroyer missile launcher, paladin shield size, shadow damage problems and how they're implemented.  Etc. 

Terrible job by the staff at balancing this game. 


And YOU would do a far better job at it of cource...

Devastator Mode's change is barely anything. Even if you have a gun with 1000 RPM, the nerf only lowers the RoF gain by 50 RPM. The Typhoon is now worse than the Revenant.

It's just a result of BioWare fumbling in the dark while doing their trial and error changes. The people in charge of the multiplayer shouldn't be in charge of it. They either nerf a weapon/power to the point where it's useless or they add such a small buff to something that's not even noticeable.
