So my Commendation pack had the Valiant in it.
Tried it out on my Destroyer and my Demolisher and I think I finally found a sniper rifle that I like.
3 shots (4 with devastator mode) and 1.35 m penetration---> wow.
It's very forgiving for misses, since it has multiple rounds in the clip.
It's the sniper rifle for non-leet snipers.(like me)
I'll be carrying this weapon a lot in future matches.
Got the Valiant- Love it!

It's kinda sad. There was a time not long ago, before I had unlocked either the BW or Valiant (been playing since launch) that I would have been ecstatic at getting a Valiant in a Comm pack.
Just got the Valiant II and have to say I didn't really care. Don't find the gun that useful on Platinum. Doesn't pack enough of a punch against bosses imo.

Its a godly weapon. Think of it as a more powerful viper with half the clip. It has less recoil than a BW, but I've don't have the BW in multiplayer, so I wouldn't know how to use it. The Valiant is better when it isn't spammed, but it doesn't punish you too badly, since the reload time is so fast

Valiant VI. And you know what? I find the gun nearly useless. I love how it feels, but it doesn't do enough damage - not by a long shot.
Then again I find all sniper rifles underwhelming at the current time (and this is from a guy which nearly exclusively played SI up through Rebellion).

This. Exactly. A little coffee, an awesome sniper rifle, and enough free time to tear up some Reapers....

Id recommend it if youre typically bad with Bolt Action SR's. I do fine when I slap on my Mantis X or Widow whatever, but I just want to shoot without freaking out because I misseddmath2 wrote...

It's actually very forgiving for a sniper rifle... and more versatile than most, I think. With 3 shots and a pretty quick reload, you have some room to make mistakes. I think it's a great weapon for learning to snipe.

I should take my Quarian Male Engineer back out. The Valiant III worked well for him and it's up to IV now. The N7 characters need more or less weighty weapons so the Valiant has no real place there.
Plus, finding out that the reason pulling the left trigger and having the Valiant center on something completely different than what I wanted is aim ASSIST, I'm kinda bummed about weapons with scopes anyway. Still waiting for a Paladin X in about 20 more UR cards, since it hits about as hard as the Valiant with no scope to screw with my aim...

This is how I feel about sniper rifles currently. Yeah you can take out trash alright, but there are weapons that can do that faster. After that, it becomes a matter of bosses, especially on platinum, and I wouldn't be caught dead with a sniper rifle there, as much as I enjoy them.

I got a Valiant upgrade and I was happy too, although I never use Sniper Rifles anymore. I think the joy comes from the fact that it was a good gun, instead of a disappointment like the Eagle. That said, I would greatly appreciate it if I was lucky enough to get the Hurricane. Many of my caster builds want that now that ULM can be made to work. :|

It also passes through cover and makes those Nemesis and other mooks get out in the open.

I just unlocked Valiant I too. Now I have all the N7s at level I. (I missed a few operations for awhile)
According to the stats, it doesn't do as much damage as my Viper X which already is underwhelming on Gold, so I don't know if I'll use it much or not.

Has a better ROF and almost no recoil. It's much better than the Viper X.

I really want to like this gun, and it is probably just because I'm not used to using it yet, but I seem to kill more easily and more often with just the ol' Mantis X. Find myself fighting against the auto aim more with a Valiant as well as spending more time out of cover, especially when trying to hit something that is on the move and decide to go for a body shot.
I do like that quick reload though. No need for canceling out of the reload animation.

Just gave it a quick test-run on a solo match (I wiped, so I'm back here...). I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. I may have to rethink a couple of my infiltrator builds now!

I have Valliant II...my QMI never used other weapon.
Valliant is the best SR in game for now. Even BW is garbage for me compared to Valiant.

I got my valiant for the 3rd time in a row now and while i do love the gun, i find its useless on platinum (as is all sniper rifles) it can still be fun to use on gold but doesn't do alot of damage. the mantis does 20% more damage w/o any mods and its a start weapon. and I'm pretty sure it does not have built in AP ability (although i think it should) and at level 3 barely does more damage then the viper does at level X but the viper has twice the clip size. I do love the no recoil, instant reload, and quick ROF it has but snipers need a buff and so does the valiant to be more usefull on gold and viable on platinum
