Nah, Zevran is just weird that way. He was probably having fun. Wynne, on the other hand, probably has issues.twintalons wrote...
That's the thing I found a little confusing about it. I *thought* that the demon wanted to give you dreams to keep you happy and stop you thinking something is wrong.
So you got 'the blight's over' and Alistair got the family he always wanted, Leliana is at peace with the chantry, BUT then you get Wynne all guilty about failing the dead mages (or something, woops my memory sucks), and Zevran getting tortured.... hmmmm ?
I didn't do the other characters, except Morrigan, who I thought was actually quite funny. If it was the first person I had gone to it wouldn't have been, but it was on my second playthrough and I'd seen quite a few of the others in their dreams already.
MAYBE the people having more disturbing dreams are sort of unconsciously realising something is wrong and their dream scenarios are reflecting that.TheMadCat wrote...
Well I don't think the Sloth demon actually sought to put you in a nightmare, rather a dream to keep you contempt until it was to late. Wynne being the exception and I never truly understood why, perhaps she enjoys failure?
All were fairly well done per character I thought, though the PC I agree should have been based more around a happier ending towards your origin story as it makes little sense that being with Duncan at Weisshaupt would be your happiest moment. Of course perhaps that's why your PC was able to see through the charade while most of the others could not, it just didn't make any sense.

As I see it Wynne, as a mage, would have been aware she was in the fade if shown some happy dream world where everything was alright, just as Morrigan was. So the Sloth Demon preys on her current emotional state to "break" her and bypass that part of her mind that knows this isn't real.

I think Wynne has a martyr/flagellant complex and Zevran is obviously into bondage/torture, he hints that pretty early.

Here's a though for a nightmare that still includes Duncan and doesn't use anything from the origin (so it'd only have to be produced once).
The sloth demon is making you sleepy switches to 1st person view screen begins to blur and fade to black. Just before screen goes black something comes from off camera and carries the sloth demon with it off screen. Screen goes black and fades back in to reveal Duncan and Alistair standing over you. You get up and Duncan explains how he managed to survive Ostagar and immediately set out to gather allies. He tells you that he's managed to marshall an army and was just coming to enlist the mages. It then continues to inform you that the Arch Demon has revealed itself and Loghain has fallen into step since this is now obviously a Blight. To reward you for your actions above and beyond expectations you are to travel to Weishaupt to receive commendations.
If the player insistently disbelieves what they're being told the illusion of the mage tower shatters and the game loads in the typical Fade with you surrounded by low level demons. Once the demons are defeated the fade portal/pedestal thing appears and you go on as before. If the player plays along with the fantasy then they are told to say their goodbyes to their companions who are also there. If the player talks to the companions there's no conversation just the character saying, "Farewell" or something to that effect. If you talk to Duncan again he just says, "We'll be leaving shortly be patient". In the room there will be a single door and when the player goes to open it Duncan says, "No you must remain here for now, your escort will be here shortly." when the player opens the door the illusion shatters just like if the player choose to disbelieve.
