Well, we farm on Galcier vs geth when we do. Better than White because of its smaller size.

Well it's something different at least; and a sign that plat will soon be a place for other maps.

Do you think Ghost/Giant will soon become viable?
They are both easy maps.

This is done to reduce the numbers of banshee encounters. If the enemy faction selected is Geth, Cerberus joins on wave 3, and Reapers come on wave 6 (no banshees that round til wave 7 I think).

I'm not sure that actually reduces the number of Banshees overall though as I think more spawn on the higher rounds - and it means you've got reapers from the wave 6 objective onwards.

If you pick Cerberus as the enemy, you get a slightly easier Cerberus/Geth combination in waves 6-8.

Because you're on Xbox and many (but not all) XBL players love to farm like nitwits.
This is NEVER a problem on the PC. Never has been, never will be.

I don't disagree to what you are saying but the way that you have generalised Xbox players comes over as a little arrogant.
Sorry, but it does.

Alright, I'll take that. I tried to weaken my statement by saying "not all", but clearly I shouldve have just said a bunch or something.

The office is a good choke point. All the enemies get stuck in a traffic jam.

I love the fact you called this area the office.

I have the mental image of someone having to work late with all the mayhem going on around them.

There is a glitch in FB White. You can farm platinum just as easy as gold. Geth is preferable because of phantoms and banshees.

I know about the glitch with banshees but I actually get destroyed by geth. I know I am alone in that but also I find it ironic I destroy the geth in SP in MP I seem to get destroyed

Its another glitch. Works with any factionenemy, people just select Geth to avoid a spike in Phantoms numbers.

I'm not sure if I should talk about the glitch here, this could become another missile crisis. But then again, I bet there is a lot of people doing it already.

You're not alone. I freakin' hate geth. I'm worhtless when playing anything against them.

Play Salarian infiltrator. He pwns them, at least on gold.

Because of energy drain and cloak? I still get my ass carried (not kicked, I have good team mates:happy:)

Primes see me > I can't move.:crying:

And he can snipe you from across the map with seeking projectiles. Thats not fair... Ohh "but they don't do much damage", who cares, I can't freaking move!

If you're farming white on platinum, squad design and placement is important. Just like gold, you want a salarian engineer and an infiltrator with cloak duration and preferably speed (shadow works great, especially with leveled up electric slash). With my group, we find a pair of demolishers works great to finish off the party. The engineer and infiltrator take up shop closest to the courtyard, and both demolishers set up their pylons behind the console in the back. I find that putting them close together actually keeps both demolishers better stocked up on grenades, as fewer of them go to waste since your usage is likely to be somewhat staggered.

The big difference between gold and platinum (besides the faster pace, greater difficulty, and added diversity or your enemies) is that the decoy isn't really the only decoy. Anything (especially the banshees) that doesn't stop to mess with the decoy will notice the engineer and infiltrator up front and move towards them. When that happens they come into view of two demolishers who quite simply rain down hell on them.

Only two things can mess with this strategy. the first is bad teammates. The second is poor performance on objectives. Personally, I love the objective rounds because it gives you a taste of what it's like to roam on platinum. So, you get safer farming on most rounds, but a few rounds with the potential to actually challenge you.

Seems like a good option. I just haven't tried it. I have been burnt many times over in Platinum PUGs and so far, only played it with friends succesfully. When I do that, I do it for farming. I will start doing regularm Platinum matches in near future.

Alright whenever I find a platinum  match 95% of the time it has the geth as the main enemy  and most of those it is one firebase white. Why does everyone use these so much. Honestly I hate it use some variety people anyone agree

My first time joining a random platinum pc match was FBWG. I was a Destroyer, the others were a Salarian Engineer and 2 adepts. Geth is the 'easiest' enemy to start off with. However, it was boring.....very boring and seemed easier than gold farming. It only got hilarious (at least I found it funny) when Phantoms would sneak in the back way, even though everyone was in the room the entire time.

I had my fair share of FBWGG matches but that got old and started to take the fun out of the game for me. I also found it diminishes your skills because you're just sitting in one place (sans objective waves) the entire time, so it took me a while to get back up-to-speed.

After that and a few other absolutely disasterous normal platinum matches with randoms, I've barely joined lobbies since. It's best to play on that difficulty with people your friends list.

i don't understand why pc users act like such arrogant dicks.

Cause they paid 4 times as much for a computer that plays the same game. Just like the guy that paid 60K for his car that goes from point A to point B just like your 20K car, same mentallity.

Yeah, but the guy who paid 60k for his car gets to drive a Corvette to work instead of a Honda Civic :P   JK...

I have a PC because I enjoy building them and I prefer the performance and versatility, not because I'm an elitist (or an arrogant dick, btw)... I just love my techie toys.  Nothing beats the graphics on a good PC... makes Mass Effect 3 (single player game in particular) look absolutely stunning.  Perhaps, because of the expense involved in a PC capable of gaming,  the PC community may be a just bit older, and therefore a little more laid back than the console communities. The majority of  PC players that I have come across have been great team players and very supportive. However, I've never played games on a console, so I don't have anything to compare to.

As for the farming, I say "to each his own".  We all player for different reasons; maybe the farmers are playing to max their weapons, etc.  I like to promote to try out new builds, and I hardly even venture into gold, even tho I have the equipment and (I think) the skills to manage it.  As long as everyone is working together as a team, it's all good.  I understand your frustration, tho... I know it takes a while to gather a good random team in a high level game when you host.

Best of luck to you in your search for a more interesting match :)

95% of the people you play with don't know how to play platinum which is why it's FBWGP

Mostly it's for farming. Also, it's because the Geth do not have BS "one hit kill" units like Phantoms and Banshees that kill you when you're 10 feet away and running AWAY from them, and you magically get sucked back into their grasp.

I solo only against Geth, and I usually play Gold only against Geth. I'm tired of being BS killed 10 seconds into wave 8 or 9 because a Banshee teleported through a wall, then magnetically grabbed me THROUGH another wall to kill me, and I get to spend the next 7 minutes just lying there watching other people play.

Sure, the Geth are cheap, but at least it's a consistent cheapness, not a "oh hey, look, she teleported 400 feet in 0.2 seconds and murdered me before I could move." (or a "so I fired 300 rounds out of a revenant, one guy did three overloads, and two people set off biotic explosions, and yet the Phantom is still moving towards me and has taken no damage because of her magical bubble of invulnerability that is now apparently a power that can MOVE as well.")

F(BLEEP) Phantoms and Banshees.
