1. "Use Any Item"  allows True Neutral or other than Lawful Good Protagnists' to equip Carsomyr? Basically negating any restriction whatsoever on any damn item in the game is possible with "Use Any Item"?

Use Any Item does exactly what it says on the tin.  That includes, for instance, the personal equipment of NPCsImage IPB.

2. Carsomyr sets Magic Resistance to 50% (just like HLA for fighters sets MR to 50%).  If I equip all MR boosting items can it go past 50?? I mean for fighters the HLA actually lowers MR and sets it to 50% for the time the ability is active...

Carsomyr increases MR by 50% rather than sets it there - so it's far more useful than the HLA (it makes it relatively easy for a paladin or a thief to get to 100% MR).

3. 50% MR means what?  ... protection from Magic fires and every magic on the realms including Maze or timestops and any magic for upto 50% damage resistance from them...or it works like Belt of Inertial Barrier...

There's a difference between MR and magic damage resistance.  The latter reduces damage, but has no effect on whether spells work.  The former means there is an initial check to see whether the spell works at all (before considering saving throws, magic damage resistance, special abilities etc).  MR of 100% will therefore stop dead any spell effect that is subject to MR.  Note, however, that not all spells are affected by MR and it is also possible for some enemies to reduce MR using spells or special abilities.

4. Carsomyr each hit dispels magic on opponents. This "Hit" is a Save vs. Spell one or a "No Save" dispel magic meaning it 100% dispels it or there may be a chance just like spell "Dispel Magic"...Also, as a Fighter/Thief casting "Dispel magic" from Carsomyr ability has 100% chances of dispelling too??

Carsomyr is an automatic dispel on hit, i.e. no save vs spell as with some other weapons.  Casting dispel magic from the sword does not give you 100% chance of dispel (except as allowed by vanilla game, e.g. mirror image is always dispelled).

One thing I've wondered is whether dispelling magic also dispells the spell "reduce magical resistance" and the like.

Without mods, Carsomyr doesn't dispel anything, it uses bad code.

I can't wait for many items to equip and try them!!..This is perfect class to try out certain restrictions without starting a new game or Kit. Thanks Grondo.:wizard:

This. I fear the same though have to try out once whether fixes or GOG patch has solved this issue.

G3 Bg2fixpack documentation states the following...

Carsomyr Issues
Carsomyr +5 was only doing 1d10 +
5 melee damage instead of the listed 1d12 +
5 damage. The dispel magic on hit effects of both Carsomyr +5 and Carsomyr
+6 were rebuilt as they were occasionally flaky. The ability to cast Dispel
Magic was also not requiring the sword to be identified first and it was also
requiring a creature target, unlike the spell.
Files altered: sw2h10.itm, sw2h19.itm

Just to clear my doubt, Is there any need for mods in addition 'G3 Bg2fixpack" to fix it!!..

Also, as a Fighter/Mage The Staff of Magi always dispelled Combat protections on each hit without fail BUt it never dispelled "Spell Protections" on enemy opponents like Defensive harmony on cleric fighters, etc..

Fighter/Thief has no mage levels nor the ability to dispel magic but can only dispel in melee by hiting the target with Carsomyr.

Can I assume Carsomyr will ONLY dispel combat protections on hit (like Stoneskins) successfully? Or it also removes Spell Protections?
