Generally speaking, yes, I agree with you. "Mass Effect 3 single-player DLC announcement!!!111" doesn't have the same ring with investors as it does for the hardcore fans that are going to be buying it. It's just not quite a big enough thing.

That said, some of the developer tweets have me somewhat anticipating something.

They have been hinting at some kind of Mass Effetc announcement, so if its not the DLC then its almost certainly a new game.

FPS/TPS set on Earth during ME3, where you play as Anderson or one of his men. Calling it now.
