After doing the Whole of Castle redcliffe i still only had 17 corps gaul for that Chantres board Quest, I have also been to the Ruins in the Brecillican forrest. Is there spomewhere else I can get Corpse gaul, and is it even worth the additional reward?

The best tactic for that quest is to only accept it once you have all the galls you need.

Or get it before entering Redcliffe castle and decide to get the mages' help when confronted with Connor's situation. That's what I tend to do.

I have to agree, just don't take the quest until you have all of them. That way you can do any other chanter's board quest and not have to worry. It won't disappear from the board until you take, there's nothing to lose whereas any other method... well, there is
