I just visited the store to find that it's down for maintenance, but I was really happy to see BW are setting up a new warehouse in the UK, great news for me and other Brits. Here's the run down of all the improvements: http://treehousebrandstores.com/info/

I had a few questions though:
  • Will the stock of the UK warehouse be limited, and if so will the US warehouse still be an option for us if the UK stock is depleted?
  • Will lithographs be shipped from the UK in the same thick tube that you use for international deliveries or will they come flat packed? I'd prefer flat packed as I wouldn't have to flatten them myself prior to framing. (maybe this could be another option?)
  • Will the shippng charges be incresed if I am forced to buy from the US warehouse due to no stock in the UK?
  • Now that you will be shipping directly from the UK will you still be stocking future products (lithographs in particular) at forbidden planet?
Thanks for the improvements and if you could answer any of the above queries I'd be grateful.

Oh one important question I forgot to ask:

Will the pricing be the same from the UK warehouse as from the US warehouse? I only ask as a lot of games/consoles/limited editions/figures etc are a direct USD to GBP conversion, if an item costs 299 USD in the USA it will cost 299 GBP over here which is a total rip off. Recent examples that I can think of are the PSVita and the threeA Metal Gear Solid REX figure.

For number 2. They will only be shipped in tunes.

Per support:

I am told that the UK warehouse will only be shipping Art in tubes, and the flat packaging will not be available to them.

I'm really glad they opened a warehouse here. :D

Hopefully they'll update it soon with more merchandise, because right now we don't have as much compared to the US.

Looks like they're actually converted up, t-shirt from $24 to 26€ or £20.53.

T-shirt prices in $
USD: $24
GBP: $32
EUR: $32

Or a hoodie: $49.99 --> $66 in EU

It's cheaper to buy from US so I guess this is just if you want the products faster.

Well that sucks but I kinda saw it coming.

It's all down to VAT I guess, it might be cheaper to buy from America, but shipping will be more and you run the risk of getting charged by customs.

To be honest, I'd rather pay the extra fiver than get hit by customs and expensive shipping.

I just hope the store gets updated with more of the stock that the US has.

It would be nice if they paid for any customs fees like Rockstar do, but as long as the UK store gets the same as the US one then it's not too bad.

Questions - answered!

Will the stock of the UK warehouse be limited, and if so will the US warehouse still be an option for us if the UK stock is depleted?

-We just opened this warehouse, so we'll be adding more merchandise as we go. Not necessarily ALL items, but certainly more than we have right now!

Will lithographs be shipped from the UK in the same thick tube that you use for international deliveries or will they come flat packed?)

-All artwork will be shipped in the thick tubes.

Will the shippng charges be incresed if I am forced to buy from the US warehouse due to no stock in the UK?

-If there is no stock of the item in the UK store, and you choose to buy it from the US store (this will happen with some items) then yes, you have to pay to have it shipped from a US based warehouse.

Now that you will be shipping directly from the UK will you still be stocking future products (lithographs in particular) at forbidden planet?

-For the time being. They only get a handful of each litho, so it isn't a huge deal...

Thanks for the reply Ms D :)

I have another question:

As  Ms Domino is a member of the Bioware/treehouse staff, why doesn't she have a special rank on the forums to indicate this?

EDIT

@ Ms D -  Sorry if this sounded impersonal, I didn't know how to phrase the question correctly to ask you directly and to ask others at the same time.

I don't work for Bioware, I work for Treehouse, but you're right, I should probably ask for Mod status at some point. Since I've been doing this for a while, and it very clearly states on my profile that I work for Treehouse, and everyone kind of knows... just didn't seem that important to me...

Just got my first delivery which consisted of a Tali & Liara Pinup Shirt and the CIC Messenger Bag. I ordered Thursday evening during the Gamescom Sale, which was also available for the UK store (although I could not find any mention of it on the site itself, the discount was applied nonetheless). And it arrived today - meaning a mere 3 workdays delivery time from UK to Germany, which is amazing! Packaging was very well, too: a big padded envelope. I'm more than happy with both, delivery time and packaging.

Plus, I saved the tiresome process of having to deal with customs. Each and every time I ordered from the US store German customs got their hands on it and instead of reading the invoice that was clearly and plainly visible attached to the outside of the package I had to get there personally and print out an invoice for them... Finally, those times are over! And saving the VAT I had to pay at German customs more than compensates for the higher prices of the UK store.

Here's hoping the UK store gets a larger stock and bigger selection comparable to the US store - that would make it perfect :)
