Priceless. That was really a good one. Kudos to you ;)

Perhaps I'm stupid, but why did you bold the word  her? I didn't read anything before the suggestion to use Jacob, is it a refrence to what went on before in your discussion?

Miranda has two XX Chromosomes. She's female. It's stated.

Pay attention.

Jacob did something that really hurt her, it's never stated what it is but we have some clues now.

Like REAL bad.

Not surprising considering what he will do in 3. She certainly needed a better man than him.

Seriously how could someone even have interest in him? He never made it in all my playthroughs. The vents are always his last mission.

I never knew that her gender was an issue.

I didn't think he was terrible, he brought some normalcy to the crew. Though, I never loved his character.

People don't pay attention at all. She's as female as female can be.

If they have no strong personality, then the character sucks...according to oldie Bioware fans.

However, Jacob is a great character, he doesn't need to have issues or quirks.

Actually I referred to both of you. Your "I'd like to see what he has for Jacob, and maybe place bets for how long until he goes back to Miranda" and his answer, which was short and concise "Dude, He hurt her". It really didn't take long.

I simply liked your dialogue.

Oh. I was referring to Taboo, how long until he went back to posting about Miranda. Lol, I didn't see the unpleasant implications of what I said.

Would you prefer I use Jacob?

Who's Jacob?

txgoldrush wrote...

No, its you that are missing the point.

Nevermind the fact that he is not honest with you in ME2, or the fact that Shepard will always end terms badly with him in ME2, or the fact that he gives the evil look if you save the Collector Base at the end.

Face it, he played you in ME2.

You still don't get it and are really fast at jumping to conclusions. I'm starting to think that you're either a troll or one of the worst apologists I've met on the BSN.

Wrong

TIM is antagonist when he was introduced in Ascenscion.....he is a villain. He just shows his true colors in ME3.

You are not getting it.

I read Ascencion.

TIM was the same as he was in ME2 in ascenscion. And even more so in the "morally gray" area, because you get to see his inner thoughts, all of which are literally around the advancement, defense, preservation and betterment of humanity's standing in space. Noble goals on paper really.

Mac simply has no skill at remaining consistent. He wrote HIS version of TIM not the version already established. And his Version of TIM is just an indoctrinated idiot who does things because the reapers tell him to, save on perhaps Horizon.

I doubt Mac ever even played ME1 or ME2. He himself says he looked at the Wiki frequently because he would forget "some of the things in there."

I never really got the Jacob hate. Prefered him a hundred times to the bore fest that was Kaidan Alenko of ME1

Cerberus Cells do not communicate with one another. Not knowing that is ignorant.

Miranda has no idea how awful Cerberus CAN be until you discover other things or hear about them on the news.

But yeah they're pretty bad in an IRA sense.

EDI says the cells don't talk to eachother, but the Illusive Man likes to maintain personal oversight over each cell...
He never has more than a dozen projects, because it strains his ability to multi-task...

Never got the hate for Jacob, I liked him, I would use Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Kasumi, and Zaeed.

I liked how he always saluted Shepard. Seemed like a nice guy

Nope...watch the Renegade ME2 ending again in which TIM looks at the ships going to th esvaed collector base.....looks shady and evil.....maybe to tell you that you made a bad choice.

The only difference is that he is indoctrinated and that his methods of perserving humanity will lead to humanity's destruction.

Mac wrote ME2 as well, and was the lead writer as well.

No, Drew Karpyshyn wrote the core of the story but left halfway through.

Mac Walters got top billing because he worked more.

They Co-wrote it.

Get your facts straight.

That for sure, he was normal. Too normal. And sucks at biotics. I made the mistake in my very first playthrough to take him as shield against the seeker swarms in the collector base and lost Grunt because of him. The scene was horrible. I never forgave him, restarted the whole mission and sent him to the vents.

I don't mind normal. I didn't mind him, Kaidan, or Vega (I actually liked Vega).

But I had no illusions of his ability. Only Jack or Samara hold up the barrier for me.

This

Vegas was another good character but since he is not an alien people freak out.

In Mass Effect 2, the Illusive Man...

- Knowingly sends you into a Collector Ship trap
- Sends you to a Derelict Reaper to retrieve an IFF when he already has a ****load of them
- Leaks that you are working with Cerberus to the Alliance and arranges to have you meet the VS

He's manipulating you all throughout ME2...

Not really, in ME3 his goal is to control the reapers, with the Advancement of humanity being almost an afterthought.

Control control control, humanity something something control control control.

Whereas in Ascension it was more like.

I'm doing these things because I have to. Because no one else will. No one else is willing to.

Here it was more like "I'm doing this because I KNOW I can do it and it WILL work."

Theres a difference between a tone setter and an actual plot follow through. Whoever wrote/designed that last cinematic in ME2 was setting a tone and people could think he looked evil/indoctrinated/satisfied as they wanted. I personally thought he looked satisfied.

And check your facts. DREW wrote most of ME2 and Casey told him to give Mac the reigns for when Drew would eventually leave. Drew laid out a sketch plotline for ME3 as well and Mac threw it out the proverbial window the moment Drew was out the door.

These are the results.

That or He's Casey's best friend.

Take your pick.

Given his general track record (Arrival, Kai Leng, ME3 Cerberus and TIM, THE ENDING)

I think the answer as to why the self entitled artist got the position is rather obvious.

I believe Weekes the Cerberus base mission up until the confrontation with TIM, though did write TIM's first line. Everything after "Shepard, you're in my chair" was written by Walters. (Also, I believe he wrote Mordin's conversation on the Normandy and helped with Mordin's lines during the Genophage plotline.)
