Good luck mate. Just remember, one of the reasons why so many love DA:O is that the replay value of the game is extraordinary. So if you are disappointed by DA2 there are three races and six origins waiting for you in Ferelden!

Nontheless, I strongly recommend trying the demo out first. It's pretty much exactly as is in-game.

In other words: the demo gives an accurate in-game experience to be prepared for the purchase. Don't think it will spoil anything or depict the game in any worse way than the game actually is.
