I know that we PC players has lot of other reasons besides bad endings, game streamlining, auto dialogue, bad side quests, alwful jornal and so on to do not like ME so much.
Dragon Age is kinda obious. Not only all the recycling and etc, but we lost the tactical camera.

But do you think these 2 Bioware franchises deserves to be in this list? I think that, for now, they do.

Why exactly does Bioshock have more "Better" than "Worse" votes? Infinite hasn't come out yet, and you can't claim that Bioshock 2 was better than Bioshock 1.

I think this shows that the internet is full of people who judge things based on looks, even when things arent out yetPosted Image

Honestly, I have no problem with it. Some of the reasons listed by the OP are all things that should have been relatively simple to avoid. Sure we can get into debates about things like the dialogue, but even such basic things like a decent journal and quality side-missions were lacking. The journal in ME2 worked, so why change it? Fetch quests are derided as nothing more than fluff to make a game look bigger than it is, so why do so many of them? And for that matter, why do them with planet scanning, which was probably the most widely disliked gameplay aspect of ME2? This is basic stuff that they botched.

Based on DA2 and ME3, I would say they are getting worse. I think DA will be getting better by my opinion (DA2 is a bad place to judge it from). I hope there won't be any more ME (it got worse, but it's over now), but I'm sure there will be (hopefully there's at least a change in lead writer).

But this survey is clearly not very relevant. I'm sure the crapton of sales for new Call of Duty games makes clear that nobody shares the opinions of the people polled here of how much worse it's getting (or at least that it doesn't really mean anything), which casts doubt on all the responses.

These are votes from internet people (trolls). In the words of Winston Churchill, democracy is the most absolute worst, except for all the others. So take all these polls of internet trolls with all the respect they are due.

I will agree that the story in DA 1 was better than DA 2. But just two points in a sample hardly make a trend.

In the ME series I think that the game play has gotten better from ME1 to ME3. As far as story goes, ME1 was a simple hero quest that could finish with the cowboys riding off into the sunset. ME3 would never have that sort of ending. It would at best be like a Greek myth where the hero failed in some way. The Reapers were NEVER going to be beaten to allow the ride off into the sunset ending. So I think (my personal opinion and if you disagree, then you disagree) is that ME3 very well showed the darkness the story of ME1 required. The ME trilogy was never going to end well for Shepard or the galaxy.

So therefore I think that the ME trilogy has follwed its story arc quite well and the gameplay has improved with each game.

If you don't agree with me, you are entitled to think that. As Soren Kierkegaard said, truth is subjective. What is true for you is true for you, andf what is true for me is true for me.

Actually, MW 3 despite it's initial success, is actually lagging behind BO in how well it sold. It came out guns blazing, so to speak, but sales and interest took a nose dive pretty quick.

http://www.joystiq.c...ack-ops-so-far/

It's kind of funny, not in a ha ha way, but in irony, that the guy who heads EA is vehement about micro transactions being the future and that free to play is probably where gaming is headed(like a lot of companies do in the East). http://kotaku.com/59...ding-to-a-giant

What he fails to pay attention to is that all those micro transactions and the FPS/MP model has been forecast to be on the down hill slope by analysts for a while. Sure there's a huge number of people on this planet that'll bar fill to no effect for a while, but that's not a lasting model. Most people get pretty tired of bar filling, especially when it doesn't get the player anywhere. How many of us played FarmVille or CityVille or whatever the hell its called for maybe a month only to eventually go wow, what a waste of time, and then never go back to it?

Personally, I agree with the PC crowd here. DA 2 wasn't what it was purported to be. ME 3 wasn't what it was marketed to be. That's not good. And while there may be tons of money to be made in F2P browser games, eventually those will get old as well. And I'd hate to be a gamer when suddenly there are no more games to play.

But wasn't these same people from the internet (trolls) that got that Bioware make the EC?

If i remember right, one of the things that started all the rage and made people be more vocal was a poll that got more 50k votes. 50k votes from people from all plataforms.

This poll however has 22k votes (unique votes) from PC players only.

And like i said, ME problems are not only the bad endings. Is bad endings with game streamlining, auto dialogue, bad side quests, alwful jornal.
And on PC it gets worst because it is a simple xbox port, no propper controls (from the lack of shortcuts to not being able to use ENTER!), limited graphic options/bad graphics and lack of high texture, no gamepad support, no server/room browser, the game constantly checking your DLCs everytime you go to main menu and so on...

I thought Oblivion was better than Skyrim and Fallout 3 was better than New Vegas. And I haven't played the other 3 games of the top 5. Guess I'm in the minority there.

I do agree that WoW, Diablo, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect have all gotten worse. Diablo 3 by far the worst of the bunch. That game honestly surprised me, didn't expect at all the garbage I bought. Mass Effect and Dragon Age didn't catch me by surprise too much, I figured after Mass Effect 2 that they were changing direction to appeal to the Call of Duty fanbase more than the RPG guys who have been buying BioWare games for years. I don't play Call of Duty so I don't really know if the game is getting worse or not, their fans still eat it up though, so they must be doing something right. Hell last year they pretty much released two games(if you include the 60 dollar online pass) and it still sold crazy.

Yeah. ME problems are so not confined to the end of the game. Man, you PCers got biffed, but if it makes you feel a little more even XBox players have been dealing with a black screen of death since the get go, jittery server connections, a totally messed up face import(which PCers might have also but they also have more options to tinker and get past that than Boxers do), messed up syncing issues with the VO and the animation...

ROFL, as buggy as the game it is, it really makes me wonder how it got gold in the first place.

If you look at the difference between Oblivion and Skyrim. Otherwise, no. Morrowind is still the best, cliff racers be damned.

I remember the good old days of S7/pre-277 S8 when WoW didn't suck. Then cataclysm (of the resto shamans) arrived and I quit in disgust.

Anyhow, ME3 was an improvement over ME2 in terms of gameplay mechanics. Auto dialogue blah blah blah better than ME1's fake choices. I suspect ME3 wouldn't garner nearly as much hate as it does on the BSN if the endings weren't such a travesty (well, Kai Leng would still be despised for invincitonium plot armor).

The auto-dialogue complaints are about defining your character not choice and consequence. So yeah, that main thing about playing an RPG? Blah blah blah? No.

Improving the fluidity of combat is the only thing ME3 does better. The thing that impacts the core of an RPG the least. Whoop dee doo.

It is. However, you must realize that most people automatically develop this strange "us vs. them" fanboy mentality, and for some reason you can't like Bioware and Bethesda games at the same time. Maybe because they both start with "B" and make RPGs?

Skyrim doesn't even have quest directions for the vast majority of quests forcing you to use the quest compass. Explain how that's better.

Skyrim may have been better than Oblivion, but I really don't think it was any better than Fallout 3.

No.

At least when it rains in Mass Effect, the rain doesn't go through everything.
