Not to drag this topic into a Skyrim debate, I thought Skyrim was worse than Oblivion. Sure, the environments were pretty and the gameplay improved, but it lacked the soul that Oblivion had, especially when it came to quests. Skyrim quickly burnt me out by throwing 20 mundane quests at me whenever possible (despite the occasional gem, I felt most were boring or uninspired) whereas Oblivion's quests seemed to have been treated with more thought and care than its successor.
