I liked his scenes. Yeah he could have done with a little more background info in-game, but I still thought he was a good character.

And for the people comparing him to Saren, Kai wasn't the main antagonist, he was the Illusive Man's tool.  The Illusive Man and the Reapers were the main antagonist.

Compared to Death's Hand he really is just lame.

in the fight scene at the cerebus base, I just ran around in circles hitting my rehealth and let the team hammer him down.. until he tried to sneak up on me..then. Whack!! lol

that scene was what all the attempted build up of Kai Leng was about, spose to pen up rage..etc so when you whacked him in the end you felt better about Shane,et al.

He is the definition of a character created by comity of people trying to make something "cool MAAANNN".

"ohh give him sword, our survey says the kids like swords"

"Yeah, they love katanas"

Had his 'boss battles' been handled better, he'd be alright. But the whole 'My shields are down, cover me whilst I recharge' and 'Look at me dance around doing nothing whilst you sap away at my insta-regen health' brought out the problem with him:

He can beat you in any cutscene. There are multiple problems with him like others here said. He just could of been handled much better.

Saren was a good villian because he was always one step ahead of you: hell you always arrived after he'd gotten what you were looking for and was on his way to the next place. He was also a good tragic villian.

Sovereign was a good villian in that it was a machine beyond understanding. The only time you talk to it and ask it 20 questions, it just shrugs them off and insults you: it does not care about anything but your destruction.

Harbinger was a good villian because he's constantly there: it's always insulting you. And you literally cannot kill it, it just repossess another Collector. Even when you blow up the Collector base and see the genereal getting blown up by explosions, you fin out Harbigner is a Reaper, and don't even get to kill it then. It's literally an unkillable antagonist that killed you once, and has the potential to do it again, and only through the player being good can it NOT kill you again.

Sucks that Harbinger was removed as the primary antagonist and we got Kai Leng instead.... TIM should have been a secondary antagonist.

Yesterday, I spanked Kai Lame like the little b&#$@ he is again in the Cerberus Base.

Surprisingly... I got into a "Press Melee like a monkey hiked up on speed" fight like you do with Husks jibber-jabbering at your neck. So again I spanked the pathetic excuse for a villain and tossed him aside.

And then I Wham-Slam-Bammed him again*. Anyone else get into a button-mash fight with Kai Lame when fighting him?

Also, I think the must EGREGIOUS offense of Cutscene Incompetence he inflicts upon Shepard is the C-SEC squad skycar scene.  Gee, he's outside the vehicle!  What should I do?  A: Hit the brakes, sending him flying off, B: Put the sky car into a roll spin and send him into the drink (water is NOT soft, at that height, it'd be like hitting concrete), or... C: Shoot at him futilly through the glass and then again repeatedly at his stupid hand shield that is somehow magnitudes more powerful than an entire array of KB emitters on an entire hardsuit while hanging out of a moving sky car?

Another egregious offense...  right after you fell him in the Cerberus base.  Shep's a  Space Navy SEAL.  Navy SEALs in real life have a policy of "double-tapping" to ensure an enemy is dead.  So what does Shep do?  Shep turns his back on an enemy that isn't verifiably dead, just so we can have another soopardooparkewl scene with Kai Lame.

Yea, I'm watching this cut scene and thinking ... why am I not doing a barrel roll?

From what he was described as in the book and what I have seen of him so far in the game, he is nothing like the book character.  In the book, he would fight with a knife, and a gun, also got the impression he was just a normal looking guy that trained under artifically increased gravity (kind of like Goku in Dragon Ball Z). 

The character in the game looks like he went under some artificial enhancements that made him look like a reject from Mortal Kombat, and since I have only bumped into him on the Citadel so far (haven't played through the entire game yet) it appears he is purely a sword wielder, and if Thane can give him a kicking while having only months to live, then I don't give him much hope for when I get to smack him about with biotics.

The most infuriating Kai Lame encounter is yet to come for you then.  Just remember, don't take it out on your controller and screen.  Deep breaths... deep breaths...

I only hate him because of the scenes, make the rest of the characters look idiots and he is weak in the play.
