Moral issues with using the Reegar.

Just curious, no offense meant, but do you know what the word "moral" means?

I can understand not using the Reegar + Flamer, but what's wrong with the Reegar on a MQI?

Some people feel... it's cheap/unsporting/whatever. I somewhat agree... I only use it on the Vorcha and sometimes on the Kroguard. It's an "I WIN" gun... enemy has no chance. Very (pre-nerf) Krysae like...

Putting it on a MQI with Arc Grenade spam... yeah... that's one of the cheapest/easiest/dominant builds you could ever make. Don't get me wrong... I'm not telling you how to play... do what you gotta do to win/have fun... I'm just trying to illustrate for you how others feel about the weapon.

I'm personally more offended by others saying they're 'elite' and their main tactic is grenade raping spawn points then puffing their chest out like the did something that required skill.

Tested Indra III on Gold this morning and it was fine. Indra was already my favorite sniper rifle before the buff, and now I like it even more. :D

In terms of overall power, the Indra's got a lot in a little space, but it suffers against armor, and even with AP mods, you're better off with it's main competitor: The Valiant.

In terms of best sniper rifle, it depends really on the usage. On paper, the Indra is the superior weapon against standard infantry and its large capacity means that you might get a couple more kills out of it, it also doesn't have to worry about the shield gate cutting down on the overall damage, forcing an extra shot. It compensates for this with its armor setup. However, like the Saber versus the Typhoon, the Indra requires its user to be on target and out of cover for a sustained period, which will mean that getting hit is more likely.

In other words, the Indra has better overall damage, but extra risk, while the valiant has less power, but far less risk involved in usage. It's a matter of preference between the two, since most others are too unreliable for widespread use, or too difficult to effectively utilize.

AP Ammo + Extended Barrel + Clip + SR Rail Amp + SR Amp Gear.

Nobody's mentioned this, but the Indra is the lightest SR. So you can equip a Piranha or Wraith or Talon with ULM with it and still have an insanely quick recharge rate while being equipped for nearly everything.

The Indra also staggers like an Assault Rifle, so even though the penalty sucks for hip fire on this gun, you can use it for a hasty escape if a Hunter gets up in yo grill via stagger.

The Valiant and Raptor are good guns (I can't get the Black Widow for the life of me or the Saber, which is supposedly an amazing Sniper Rifle even though it's an Assault Rifle).

I would go so far as to say that with the Typhoon nerf, this is not only the best Sniper Rifle there is, but it's also the 2nd best Assault Rifle after the Harrier.

It's not close either. The recharge is amazing. And its Damage Per Reload and quick reload speed both make it amazing.

It just has to be modded with either Piercing or AP Ammo and Amped at least by gear.

Lol, I usually do quite well relative to randoms when I play with them, but I know I'm nothing really special. Whenever I play with my Platinum buddies, I usually feel like I'm leeching because I can never kill anything...they kill it all too fast! I usually have 50+ assists by wave 5.

The Reegar is used simply to strip shields for me. Otherwise I stick with my trusty Saber.

I've never really gotten **** for it before...but then, I usually end up clutching a wave or three when I do random Golds ha

Absolutely not.  This gun is one of 2 or 3 that basically prop up the viability of R6 Evo B for infiltrators.

Also an observation:

I am seeing ALOT of Indra shadows now with a Talon or Carnifex with ULM.

It seems this is a very powerful combination.

Very refreshing over the Electric Slash spam that I saw prior.

Valiant.

Yeah, I agree the Valiant is still the best, but I think the Indra might be the 2nd best now.  And it may be the best for non-infiltrator classes who actually care about cooldown.

I think that person was being sarcastic.

Nobody can seriously think the Javelin, even after the Shield Gate nerf is worth a crap since it still weights as much as 4 mantises and equates to what, one more armor bar per shot?

Yes, I started doing Talon + Indra on my Shadow a couple of days ago, and I love it.  I don't even use the ULM mod, and the ES cooldown is still pretty decent.  Talon is great for finishing off enemies you just hit with Shadow Strike and the Indra lets you sit back and whittle down bosses or keep enemies at a distance during hacks.

So does a pistol that shoots adhesive mini-timebombs or a shotgun that charges up while pressing the trigger and fires a bunch of spikes.

Welcome to the future, I guess. The rationale behind an automatic SR was knocking out shields faster. I really like the "out of the box" approach to weapons adapted by Bioware around the late ME2 era and explored fully in ME3.

Indra is a good weapon, though it's hard to recommend over a Harrier. As long as you can tolerate dropping a scope on the Harrier, it's pretty much a lower-capacity higher-damage Indra in the first place. Even the 25% SR bonus doesn't make the Indra better than a scoped Harrier. Indra weight is pretty nice, though.

Indra is slightly more accurate with much greater ammo capacity and a free scope.  It's also lighter.  I'd say they are quite close overall.

Lolz... my bad. The Javelin is freakin' awesome on Platinum... slaughters all those big bosses from afar. Spec a GI out for max damage and take the Javelin. Put all the best gear you got on it.. you'll be amazed what it does to Reapers/Atlases/Primes. I still sucks vs mooks... but you've got 3 other team members that can take care of them... and there's plenty of bosses for the Javelin guy to shoot.

ugh ... no? I wasnt sarcrastic at all, I have all weapons unlocked and there is no better SR than the Javelin
and its not just all weapons unlocked with different lvls but all on X (well except the premium event ones)
Just tried the Indra on n7 shadow boy that gun is soo ****ing pathethic, I have no idea how any of you kill anything with it... and I was playing on silver
with dmg increase weapon mod, armor pen ammo, sniper rifle gear and pack, headshot dmg increase and the javelin takes 3/4 of the Atlas armor on gold, you guys have no idea what are you talking about

The Raptor used to be my go-to weapon on my FQI. Then I got the Indra. I definitely miss the Raptor as it is a generally underrated gun by I would like to not get carpel tunnel after five matches. Now I mainly run my FQI with the Indra and a Piranha with incendiary ammo. That was before the recent buff, now it is even better.
I have not tried my Valiant I but seeing as how I am terrible with the BW (which is odd since it is my favorite SP sniper) I doubt I will like it very much.

WTF does headshot damage have to do with taking on an Atlas?

(No... don't answer that it's rhetorical!)

Methinks you don't know what you're talking about as much as you think you do.

I'm not denying that the Javelin works for you...

But, don't diss the Indra just because you don't know how to get it to work for you.... cheers!

I still think it would make a good assault rifle like the Harrier,
though what you said make sense and i agree with you.  Its just annoying
when i zoom in the mouse movement slows down and it messes with my aim.
Like i said it was just a thought.

I love my indra. It makes me happy, it tears apart lower mobs and keeps bosses at bay. My engineers love it. I may try it on a demolisher soon.

The Indra weighs the same as a viper making it very accessible to all classes. The Indra is very good but I don't know about being the best Sniper, I love my Black Widow X. I only have a Valient I so I can't really give an opinion on it other than it does not compare to my BW X.
