Nobody can seriously think the Javelin, even after the Shield Gate nerf is worth a crap since it still weights as much as 4 mantises and equates to what, one more armor bar per shot?

ugh ... no? I wasnt sarcrastic at all, I have all weapons unlocked and there is no better SR than the Javelin
and its not just all weapons unlocked with different lvls but all on X (well except the premium event ones)
Just tried the Indra on n7 shadow boy that gun is soo ****ing pathethic, I have no idea how any of you kill anything with it... and I was playing on silver
with dmg increase weapon mod, armor pen ammo, sniper rifle gear and pack, headshot dmg increase and the javelin takes 3/4 of the Atlas armor on gold, you guys have no idea what are you talking about

Sorry but my Indra VIII can take down an Atlas far quicker than my Javelin X  on Platinum.

Indra is a good weapon, though it's hard to recommend over a Harrier. As long as you can tolerate dropping a scope on the Harrier, it's pretty much a lower-capacity higher-damage Indra in the first place. Even the 25% SR bonus doesn't make the Indra better than a scoped Harrier. Indra weight is pretty nice, though.

Actually, I've played several matches with Indra V, then with Harrier X and they're pretty much comparable on infiltrators with 25% SR damage bonus, with same gear, ammo and mods, in terms of potential DPS. The Harrier is still better(considering it's at level X), but only slightly, nothing major. With Indra you get a free scope, more spare ammo and you HAVE to use the Stab. Mode on Harrier to be fully effective.

I was planning to do more testing, but decided to take a break from ME3 MP.

AP ammo > AP Mod

I think that's what spychi was talking about. But if you're not using AP ammo on the Indra... then yes AP mod.

Spychi I don't know what you're doing... but whatever it is... it's wrong. I know for a fact that the gun works very well on Platinum, so does the Javelin... they're just different tools for different jobs.

I can kill a full life Phantom in one clip with my Indra X... as an ENGINEER! I've seen the Javelin vs Phantoms... it's hilariously bad. Watching someone try to land that second shot... is painful. That said... I think the Javelin is the best boss killer in the game that doesn't start with a 'P' and end with an 'A'.

Guys, I have same usage of mods on each weapon
Dmg increase and ammo and I am always first. The fact that I beat down people that have lvls 20 with any earth dlc character with lvl1, spokes of itself

Scorpion
Hornet
Harrier
Particle Beam
Regaar
Piranha sometimes
Talon
Palladin
Typhoon
even the Avenger cause its a classy one

AP mod doesn't decrease damage.  It only decreases damage when you're shooting through objects or a Guardian's shield.

I bet that Javelin sings on PC with a mouse to aim... it's a bit tougher with the sticks and the horrid auto-aim.

That doesn't mean much per S.E, you could be a farmer. And considering you don't know what the APM does, i think you are.

That doesn't mean much per S.E, you could be a farmer. And considering you don't know what the APM does, i think you are.

So do I (except for the Typhoon) and I agree that he has no idea what he's talking about.

The AP mod only reduces damage if you're shooting through cover, which you wouldn't be able to do without an AP mod anyway. there is no disadvantage.

While I appreciate that you don't seem to reflexively condemn the Javelin like many do, those people you're describing... are doing it wrong as well.

A Phantom that's stripped of shields will cloak and scurry for cover unless a player is right in her face. And guess what... an AP mod Javelin laughs at both cloak, and any and all cover. Bodyshot to strip, she'll run away while you reload, wallhack headshot through whatever she's hiding behind. Nice, easy, reliable.

It's a good way to use up all the sniper rifle amps I never use, that's for sure. I wouldn't take it to Platinum though.

I prefer multi-shot snipers for the very reason that there might be some annoying teammates making the ground shake while I'm lining a headshot.

I should've elaborated more. I have a friend who is a very good player. We were all dead except him, and he was a Javelin sniper. You know how at the end of the waves... the mooks rush you? Well he has getting rushed by the Phantoms, they weren't taking cover... they were flipping and moving forward. Watching him try to squirm his way out of it was nothing short of hilarious. He ended up rocketing them... it was sooooo funny.

He should have brought a secondary weapon.

Used without scoping it does like 10% damage (opinionated percentage).

Whoever uses this gun as an Assault Rifle is doing it wrong.

But then again, all sniper rifles take a damage nerf when you hipfire them.

Used properly, the Indra has comparable burst DPS to a Revenant, with much more accuracy and much less recoil.
