I am interested in any kind of Single Player DLC that all the squad members actually have dialogue in rather than have them be silent like they were in most of ME2 DLC. And given the fact that BioWare called back pretty much all the voice actors during the making of EC makes me hope that they weren't just brought back for a couple of lines. I'm always up for more content for the characters, regardless of the story of the DLC.

That said, I certainly wouldn't mind if the DLC has an affect on the ending, even if it just adds more cutscenes of the battle.

I won't spoil it for you, but there are squad member lines in the leak that make it sound like the squad will be present and vocal in at least part of the mission(s)! :D

I'll never understand the people who are so negative about Bioware and ME yet still go on BSN..

Because they are nerds who think they know better, and like a snake eating their own tail they need to show their nerd love by being more bitter and entitled than the last person.

It is kind of sad, really.

The amount of win in this conversation is immeasurable.

I look forward to SP DLC. If it fixes the ending, to buying it. If not, to not buying it.

I like to keep it positive like that.

I second this along with D240's comment.

So we're an Ouroboros because ... we think we know better? I think I hated the endings and won't be preordering anything from Bioware again and won't spend any money on DLC unless it changes the ending. Does that now make me a know-it-all snake eating nerd?

That's definitely a good sign. As much as I enjoyed the DLCs from ME2, the lack of squad member dialogue was pretty jarring - something they definitely have the chance to rectify now.

Ok, you got me there, I know thats not what an Ouruboros is supposed to symbolize. To be honest, I kind of like the metaphor of self-inflicted pain and it was the only symbol I can think of off the top of my head.

But if they said they are not changing anything about the ending, why stay? Why make a negative comment? Not you personally, but I mean in general why do people do it? Is it that important to their lives to keep coming here and spewing hate? That part I don't understand too much, I guess, because it just seems self-destructive to me.

But then again, nerd and gaming culture is always like that...so it may be a psychological thing for all I know.

I don't know about the "know-it-all" part.  No offense. Posted Image

But allow me to disabuse you of any notion that the endings will be changed.  They're not.  Bioware is sticking to their guns.  They have to.  To go back and just scrap the endings would damage their integrity and no company will do that.  They are not going to cut the legs out from under their development team because of a few malcontents.
The EC was to clarify what most people (not "most" by BSN standards) found problematic with the exsiting endings.  It was a compromise and trust me, it's as far as they are willing to go.  If they add anything to the endings it will be retconning for the DLCs sake (e.g. inserting a new squadmate in priority earth or an additional slide in the epilogue). But make no mistake, the core of the endings will remain.

I honestly don't know why I stick around ... the Mass Effect series is really one of my favorite franchises. I mean, it's not just a game for me, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. The endings were so terrible (in my humble opinion), that I don't feel they were worthy of the ME brand - and I guess I'm hoping against hope that they will change (like Bethesda changed the FO3 ending). I know it probably won't happen, so maybe I"m just hanging around here because I'm masochistic? I dunno

They went above and beyond anything the industry expected them to do. The EC was a much larger effort and much larger compromise than the FO3 ending.

Thanks.

I mean c'mon...they seriously think that a company involved in creative stuff is going to effectively kick the creative team; i.e, the people who make the very product that keeps them in the black, in the nuts because Trevor from Teaneck, NJ has butt hurt over the endings?!

Nah-uh.  Ain't gonna happen.  The minute they do that is the minute you'll see ads on Monster for game developers wanted in Edmonton.

In all sincerity, maybe that's your sign to step away from BSN for a while.  Get some clarity.

Negativity feeds negativity.

Maybe you'll feel the game call you back...
