How is that power even acceptable? Gee, I don't know. Maybe because having a typhoon X means the person has invested an astounding amount of time into the game and using that many consumables means they're probably not even going to break even for the match rewards?
.
In addition a player with the Typhoon X must have an astounding amount of luck. When BW says this weapon is Ultra Rare, BW is guilty of extreme understatement.
And then to nerf it from 2.0 to 1.5? Absurd. If BW is using metrics based on the players who have it, that would be a very small sampling, and I bet mostly gold level players are the ones who do have this since people have to spend a huge many credits just to have a small chance to get this weapon let alone level it to X. This means that BW most likely is sampling from a tiny (and very skilled) player base instead of the huge bronze - gold/plat player base which has access to, and uses, the Reegar or the Piranha.
Don't forget people who spent real $ like myself. I spent a good amount just to get the Typhoon to level 1. It is extremely devestating to see it nerfed now. And that will definitely be the last $ I spend.

Not so much roll back as rebuff the weapon.xXdmndmnXx wrote...

The nerf was way too extreme. I'm sure Bioware will roll it back.

The rate of fire nerf to the destroyer kinda sucked. The original ROF bonus made sense with all weapons except a bottomless clipped, armor piercing, rapid fire chain gun. If the Typhoon gets rebuffed, the destroyer may get slapped with another nerf, making destroyer mode more of a liability rather than an asset.

I just got the Typhoon and tried it out with my demolisher. Somehow it was horribly hard to use and did crap damage. I could kill things faster with the Harrier and Hurricane smg. o.o But I guess that's post-nerf or something
Your right. Pre-nerf it was much better. Bioware screwed up something. Whether it was the mechanic for the bonus damage or something else is anyones guess.

To start off, I mean the damage nerf, not the penetration one.
I fully support that. I don't get it why Bioware brings out a new weapon (in this case Ultra-Rare) only to nerf it TWICE pretty soon after that!
I think this is wrong in many ways:
1. this weapon is an Ultra-Rare. Of course it should be better than the common Avenger or even a Vindicator. Otherwise there would be no point to buy PSPs to get BETTER weapons. If you nerf every Rare (Krysae is another sad example) and Ultra-Rare weapon until it is as weak as the common weapons, you ruin the idea of having a (by definition) rare and thus better weapon.
2. The N7 Destroyer was the first character from the soldier class, that was fun to play with. I didn't like any of the other soldiers, because compared to the other classes with their biotic or tech powers you were always at a disadvantage. I can play certain classes without hardly firing a weapon and still be on top of the leaderboard. So if a class is weapon dependent like the soldier it should deal a great amount of damage. As you said, you still have to run to a weapon crate all the time to re-fill, which still puts you at a disadvantage to a character spamming Biotic Combos endlessly.
Now they nerfed the Typhoon AND the Destroyer character! What a great idea!
3. Anybody who is complaining about overpowered weapons or characters should play them on Platinum. If he runs through that without any troubles, we can start talking about nerfing. But judging any weapon or class by how it works on Bronze or Silver is just plain wrong.
4. After nerfing the crap out of the Krysae and severly reducing the Typhoon, I feel somewhat betrayed by Bioware. I mean you are buying a lot of PSPs to finally get a RARE or ULTRA-RARE weapon, right? Sometimes you might be even paying real money (i.e. Microsoft Points) and not only ME credits. And then you can play the weapon only for a limited time until it gets nerfed into oblivion!?! I mean the Krysae is hardly usable anymore. I feel like Bioware has taken something from me, that I had paid for. How would you feel, if you buy a car and two weeks later the salesguy comes to your house and says: sorry, we decided to take out the aircon out of this car type. You won't get any money back, but we decided you are too comfortable with having a cool car in comparison with our other models.
Are you serious?
Don't get me wrong, I fully understand the Balance changes idea. But what has been done to the Krysae and the Destroyer/Typhoon combo (which was an intended combo, you just have to watch the promo videos) is just too much, frustrating and taking the fun out of the game.
The Destroyer had to compensate for a lot of problems (no evasive maneuvers possible at all, very slow movement), so I considered him pretty balanced BEFORE the nerf. Now it has turned into just another sad Soldier class character and I again prefer to play one of the biotic/tech power classes.

Agreed. coz a weapon thts only built for 1 class is awful.

Yep, my point exactly. Why even try to get a certain good weapon by paying for PSPs, if chances are quite high, that sometime later it will get nerfed big time.
Now I just go with whatever my regular credits give me out of the PSPs. Your favourite weapon today might become unplayable tomorrow anyways. The monster nerf (which wasn't the first nerf BTW) on the Krysae just did it for me.
Yeah, they buffed the Indra at the same time.
So now you can throw away your Level X RARE weapon and instead use a similar (both are unusually behaving snipers) ULTRA-RARE.
Which makes me wonder if there might be even some revenue based reason behind making that decision?!?
LIke: we won't get any more money out of the people being satisfied with the Krysae. So let's give them some incentive to buy more PSPs to get the Ultra-Rare unlocked and leveled up. Hmmmmm...
Anyhow, I am pretty sure someday the Indra will get re-nerfed again (like the Cerberus Vanguards Smash which got buffed from 8 secs base-cooldown to 5 secs only to get re-nerfed back to 8 secs), so why even try.
I made the firm decision to not use a single Microsoft Point again until the Vanguard Glitch has been fixed for good after seeing all those problems that came with the Earth DLC (e.g. the Rio freeze). No matter how many great new DLCs (definitely including new bugs) will come out. The recent Krysae and Typhoon nerfs only re-confirmed my decision.
I have two friends who are about to quit playing the game for the exact same reasons. If you get kicked out of too many games, because your Xbox freezes or because the EA-server connections fails and then see your favorite class or weapon being nerfed, your frustration level reaches a point where you start looking at one of the many other good games out there. I can hardly argue with them, though I still keep playing ME3 MP.

It wasn't overpowered due to its weight and ammo consumption. Put it back where it was and no less.

I just got it like yesterday, decided to take it out for a spin with my Turian, figuring marksman and proxy mind would be nice on it. Hated it. The wind up time is pretty annoying, and even with the piercing mod on it, and I didn't notice anything special in terms of damage to shields or armor. Honestly, I feel like a revenant is much better in every way at least on the Turian. I really see no comparison whatsoever between it and the harrier (both at level I). Am I missing something here?

compare it it the Revenant X like in Boom's Thread. You might as well use the Revenant, and it did not cost a bunch of PSP to get. btw, do you even have the Typhoon, as your manifest is blocked?
Only level III, sadly. RNG's a cold-hearted ****. Still rocks Platinum.
While BoomDynamite is correct that the damage is comparable to an equal-level Rev, the Typhoon has a 67% larger clip with an equal max fire rate, is more accurate, and has a built-in AP mod. The gun is still a pure upgrade to the Rev; people just want damage, damage, damage. Worse, people just got spoiled by its initial overpoweredness and now come back to whine that "it wasn't overpowered" after it was the only gun they'd use because it was so damn powerful compared to everything else (i.e. is actually overpowered).
I would agree with you. Overpowered-to-balanced can seem like "useless." That's human nature, particularly on a gaming site on the Interweb.
I also get bored of reading "xxx isn't viable." Whatever. EVERYTHING in this game (weapon, class, gear, level, whatever)is "viable." Can you use something? Yes? Then by definition, it's "viable."
Do certain things perhaps work better in certain situations than others? Sure. But that's not what viable" means, if you're going to use that term in that manner. Look it up.

This one has become another gun that has had it usefulness deminished by needless nerfing. At least the Krysae can now be experience on sp the way it was before the nerf hammer was dropped.
