So then you propose that he lock himself out of all random games and solo everything so he doesn't have to deal with their nonsense? Hell, try to use a Drellguard in a platinum game. See if you don't get kicked.


Weak post. There are such things called friends so such players don't have to worry about getting kicked for sub-optimal builds on Gold/Platinum. Also that's way out of proportion.
 
There's a fine line between near-useless and unviable. I'll gladly kick anyone using sub-optimal builds in Platinum, including but not limited to; FQE, DVG, KroSent, BatSent, and maybe a few more. Blatantly choosing to use things like that on Platinum is asking for a kick. Not just because they're not up to par, but you're willingly lowering your teams firepower and chance of success.

Completely agree, i had typhoon rigth from when ti came out only grade 2 mind you now, but the damage difference on gold and platinum is very big, because they're only difficulties i play.Everything you've said i agree with. great thread

Yeah I agree OP but I think you left one thing out. When people say it could take out a boss in like 10 seconds you forget that is 10seconds you are out of cover. That on platinum is more than enough to get killed. But yeah I tried to use it on a phoenix vanguard last night and had all my powers bumped to double the cool down time so yeah it didn't need to be nerfed. And if they had to the armor penetration would have been more then enough.

The Typhoon nerf is noticeable even on Silver. SILVER!!! Please restore the full x2 modifier. It's terrible when a Destroyer is getting nuked for being out of cover even in a Silver match.

I seldom use the Typhoon but the one time I used it post-second nerf, it felt distinctly underwhelming.

 Bump.  A truly terrible and un-needed nerf.  Further shows the playtesting of the dev crew is nearly non existent.

Speaking as someone who has a Typhoon X and am getting sick of BioWare needing all of my favorite guns, the Typhoon damage decrease isn't that noticeable.

Agreed 100% I loved playing my Destroyer with the Typhoon, it became my favorite class.
Now i dont even want to play it anymore...

Then you aren't that observant.  When it goes from 2 clips to kill something to over 3, that's more than a noticable change.

Totally unusable because of how weak it is = Locust, Geth Pulse Rifle = Balanced.

If it takes you three clips to kill anything with a typhoon on a destroyer, you're doing it wrong. And that applies to platinum. Furthermore, they didn't advertise it, but they also increased the max ammo capacity by about 70 rounds.

Tested it myself half an hour ago - totally another gun. I get killed while shooting,and bosses have become a much bigger problem. Hope devs fix this lovely gun.

Well thought out tread OP and I support them bringing back the typhoon back to its original damage. Its a bloody ultra rare weapon and I spent millions of credits getting it to unlock at 1, Why shouldn't it be better then a rare weapon.
